Re: Footscray? Yeah but no but yeah.

Really well articulated post. I disagree, and will reply soon, but wanted to acknowledge what you've written.
I think this is a great post-season discussion.

Re: Welcome to the WBFC - Lukas Webb

And yet I recall his first few games in that role he looked quite cabable.
I agree that post the 1st season he looked all at sea, but my initial thoughts were that we'd found a good player.

Re: Welcome to the WBFC - Lukas Webb

I am surprised Webb never made it with us. In his 1st season he just looked a readymade recruit.
  4. Re: No-one should let Martin get to the Blues.

Yes, yes it is. The power balance is completely out of whack.
Trouble is, it will be hard to get the AFLPA to agree to it. Any agreement to change would probably require the AFL to further lessen FA...

    Re: Proactive Poaching

I'm not sure we really need to downgrade pick 13. We'd really need to benefit significantly in doing so, and I'm not sure the above is attractive enough to do it.

    Re: Proactive Poaching

That's a hard no from me.
I still think we've not seen Mclean's ceiling yet. And I'm not convinced Papley is THAT good. If Carlton want to blow a top 10 1st rounder on him, good luck to them.

    Re: Josh Bruce 2019

Ahh silly season is well and truly here!
  8. Re: Gold Coast Suns Viability - How Long Have They Got?

They need to take a leaf out of Brisbane's book. They were losing young players left, right, and centre only a few years ago. They lost Docherty, Yeo, Longer, Polec, Crisp...maybe another...

  9. Re: Gold Coast Suns Viability - How Long Have They Got?

I still do not like them having pick 1,2 and 20.
They can get as many kids as they like, but until they solve for the reason they're all leaving, that's precisely what will keep happening, and the...
  10. Re: Our Western Bulldogs Mount Rushmore?

    Chris Grant.

As a teenage 105th pick in the draft, just as the club nearly merged. His career could've been over before it began.
Yet with Fightback keeping us alive, Chris too became the face of...

    Re: Proactive Poaching

Great result. Pity Jack Martin didn't come to the same conclusion as Bruce and Keath.
Really looking forward to how Sam Power gets these deals done as well as how he positions us for next years NGA...

    Re: Suns Priority Pick

I just don't think it will make a difference. Adding two more young prospects to the squad isn't going to mitigate or treat the underlying problems they have.
I note Lukosious and King have not...

Would it be too crass to suggest the creation of an In Memoriam page for people to document or provide profiles of Woofers who have passed?

    Re: 2019 AFL Finals Series

    I'm still nuclear on GWS.
I'd struggle to support them against a combined Hitler- Pol Pot All Star 18.......
I acknowledge their achievements thus far in 2019, and how they've forged a successful...

    Re: 2019 AFL Finals Series

Good to see the Lions, immediately not accept any garbage from GWS.
Even prepared to give away early free's, in order to stand their ground.
Wish our lads had've done the same.

    A pity the umps...

    Re: Jack Martin

The more this happens, the more I think AFL has to challenge AFLPA amd advocate for clubs to instigate and choose who to trade a player to.
    Players have too much control.

I agree. I probably wrote that poorly.
We definitely don't want another cheap as chips outcome. It definitely would hinder our chances of improving rapidly.

Another cheap as chips trade period and I think the club needs to genuinely try to answer the question 'Do we smell bad?' and try and fix it.

    Sticky: Re: MRO Thread

We clearly need to stand up to it. Each player kicks in every week to 'fine club'. And when next we play GWS; the instant one of them tries anything...all in and rough em up..every time.

    Sticky: Re: MRO Thread

Agree the umps sent mixed messages from early on. Bulldogs penalised regularly for anything remotely resembling aggression, whilst GWS were not censured at all, thus encouraging them to keep it up,...
  26. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

Club has now posted confirmation there is no ACL damage. Just read the post on club's Facebook page.

  27. Re: Bankers and Anchors,Elimination Final, 2019 vs GWS

Yep. Too deflated to do a Moment thread this week. But that was it for me, with Bailey Dale and Lipinski's misses just behind.
  28. Re: Bankers and Anchors,Elimination Final, 2019 vs GWS

    Bankers

    1. Every Dogs fan who made the trip up for the game. Kudo's to you all.
2.Jack Macrae. The only one of our midfielders who could hold his head high.
    3. Zaine Cordy. A couple of mistakes,...
  29. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

Lipinski is a massive fail for today too.
That last kick is hopefully a learning experience.
That miss also hopefully a learning experience.
  30. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

Hope your right...That sort of news would erase my most of my poor disposition right now.
  31. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

I totally agree. Early one we needed all players to just start a melee whenever GWS tried that crap.
  32. Bankers and Anchors,Elimination Final, 2019 vs GWS

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we...

    Lloyd MIA
    Hayes MIA
    Hunter. No impact
    JJ woeful
    Bailey Smith overawed
    Lipinski no impact
  34. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

Losing a final. Ok I can take that...but losing Naughton for 12 months, I'm not looking forward to 2020 already.
  35. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

Oh no. Has Naughton just done his knee?
  36. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

Shocking free against West. He literally tackled him as he kicked
  37. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

    Look Gonski.
  38. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

    JJ. Worst on ground.
  39. Re: 2019 Elimination Final Game Day - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

Not happy that the umps are allowing GWS to play agressively, but are being harsh on us for similar.
