    Re: Jordan Roughead

I admire your stubborn ability to be a company man to the last, BAD.

All some of us are saying is that we can take the words of Dahl, Stringer, etc.. with a grain of salt, but when a team leader...

Re: AFL Game Day R12 2019

How good are the new rules working. The game has never looked better. Golf claps all round for Steve Hocking and all his 3,500 mates in the competition committee.

    The game is borderline...

Wasn't the time to do this in the 2017 off-season? We had 2 elite years prior and then dropped from 19 wins to 11 wins in 1 season. What on earth have our senior management been doing the last 2...

Darling is the perfect prototype key forward for the modern game. Strong in the air, nimble on the ground, and a proven consistent goalkicker over a long time. He has shat the bed a couple of times...

Re: When things arenít always as they seem

Agree with this. If Bevo is to survive and prosper again as our senior coach, there needs to be a dramatic overhaul of our footy dept akin to what transpired at Geelong at the end of season 2006,...

Rough is a quality person - his story is telling and should absolutely be noted and acted upon by the club. Not to say the departed rat pack don't have their own qualities but Rough is an...

Re: When things arenít always as they seem

This is even more damning for Bevo and the match committee than the results indicate. Our 2015/2016 'Men of Mayhem' game plan has already been vastly improved upon (by Richmond in 2017), completely...

    Re: Sheahan into the Dogs

You can explain away 1 bad year after a flag as momentous as ours - it happened to the best of them in Clarko. But the next 18 months of on-field dross cannot be adequately explained or justified....
  10. Re: It's been a tough season so far in 2019 but........

We also did it in 5 years from 1954 to 1959 - we then made the GF again 2 years later and 5 years after that we won another wooden spoon.

Bevo looks completely bereft of inspiration and ideas at...

The likes of Gaff, Cripps, Yeo, etc.. shamed our mids with their two-way gut running in the 2nd half tonight. That 2nd half display from our mids was not even close to the required standard in...

Re: WB Game Day V West Coast R11 2019

Trengove should be our #1 ruckman for 60-80% game time - he is ultra competitive in the mould of Ben Hudson. English should play forward as a dangerous key target to assist Naughton, and then go in...

Allowing the opposition to get to 100 points before 3/4 time in 2019 is as bad as it gets defensively. And our mids are just as culpable as the defenders for this.

We're playing so well in general play but for some idiotic decisions gifting them cheapies, and at the same time we're missing easy ones up forward (what else is new)
  27. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread Round 11, Vs West Coast Eagles

Ed has run out of chances and needs a decent spell in the twos.

Has Lewis Young had his papers stamped? Lachlan Young, Gardiner and Roberts have gotten games ahead of him in recent weeks.

Same. Also the Hawks owe us a friendly trade for Smith as payback for us giving them a 31yo future Norm Smith medalist and a triple premiership player for bugger-all in a trade.
  30. Re: It's been a tough season so far in 2019 but........

We are in the midst of record low scores in the comp, so conceding 21 and 18 goals in the last 2 weeks is akin to 25+ goals. That is a massive failure of team defence, as others have already alluded...

  32. Re: Three things I have learned-round 10 v North Melbourne 2019

He still has time on his side but I haven't seen any noticable improvement in his ruck stoppage work at all. I'm a huge English fan but rucking him 80% of the time is really hurting us at the moment....
  33. Re: Three things I have learned-round 10 v North Melbourne 2019

English is not a ruckman. He's a very tall midfield utility.

He never showed much ruck craft as a junior - he won't simply morph into Simon Madden. I like English a lot but a first ruck he aint,...
