Gawn was shaded by Max Lynch in the ruck today, have to get physical with him.

Re: AFL Game Day R13 2021

I don't think the Dogs have played as many poor quarters as the Dees have this year, yet they always do enough in the second half through sheer fitness and system. Let's see if it holds true again...

Re: AFL Game Day R13 2021

That's the problem, sides don't put them to the sword so they're always in the game.

Will be very surprised if Pies hold on but it does show you that quick low entries are so important against...

Re: AFL Game Day R13 2021

Yeah, they'll finish 5th or 6th and have a home final the first week of finals and there's a good chance they'll play one of Melbourne, Geelong or the Bulldogs in week 2 at the MCG, so they're still...

NicNat is an absolute star. His tap work is the best but his bullocking and follow up is elite. Going to be an extremely hard task in a few weeks.

    Re: Well Ruck Me.

Nah, I don't think so but it's interesting to think about how it would change our side. Admittedly, I'm a sucker for big, bullocking rucks that can mark and play big minutes.

    Re: Well Ruck Me.

You're definitely underestimating how good Darcy is by calling him a good solid ruck. I rate him second to Gawn this season.

I rate Timmy, but we have a bloke waiting in the wings that apparently...

Agree with the premise of your post, but we've beaten both GWS and Collingwood in Friday night games this year.

And Sean Darcy is my favourite type of ruckman. Massive unit, follows up like a truck when the ball is on the ground and clunks marks.

Alex Pearce has done a good job on Ben King today. He's had a shocking injury run the past 2 years but if he could overcome them and show he's still mobile enough, might be worth looking at closer....

They still coughed up a decent score against Port and were made to look second rate for a few patches in that game. We can beat them, though it's bloody tough at that bowling alley-slash-football...

Razor holds a grudge. As soon as Papley tore him a new one, it was only going one way.
  24. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

Henry and Stewart were particularly dominant in the air, really need to keep them occupied.

I imagine Henderson goes to Naughton, Kolo to Bruce and Henry to English (or some combo of that) with...
  25. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

    Not really.

They structured up very well defensively with an extra back, but they took over 20 contested marks for the game with a lot of those being intercept/via turnover. They completely...
  26. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

Port coughed the ball up way too many times last night and Geelong punished them on turnover. Aliir Aliir was particularly bad.

We really need to use the ball well and if we do, they can be...
  27. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

That's the way the MC was heading, with Crozier the sub in the Port game. I hope they stick with that thinking as we're unbalanced when we try and shoehorn Wood/Crozier/Cordy all in the same side.
  28. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

I don't like it either but I think that's how it'll end up, at least for part of the game.

  31. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

He's gone with Cameron before and done ok, I think that's the better match up. To be honest, all the combinations worry me and unless we reduce the volume and quality of the supply, our defence is...

I did and thought Bob could have done a lot more to address/squash it simply by referring to the conversation he had with Marra on the Dogs podcast. He didn't do that and actually gave it some legs...
  34. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

Stewart is unbelievable. Elite contested mark, great decision maker and kicks it beautifully. Always looking to set up attacks from half back. He was on Gray for large portions last night and...
  35. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

Wasn't Bevo quoted as saying he's brought in 3 talls specifically to manage against Geelong/WC. If that's the case, I think we'll see one of Garder/Cordy go to Rohan.
  36. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

Ratugolea went forward, Blicavs roamed higher up the ground and even into defence.

Hawkins took every forward 50 thrown in and was an absolute menace. He's a weapon in those situations, works...
  37. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 14 Vs Geelong 2021

How do you think we'll line up defensively?

Keath has to go with Hawkins, obviously. He's the only one with the size and speed to go with TH.

Cordy to take Cameron and Gardner to Rohan? We'll...
