  2. Re: Welcome to the Westernbulldogs - Charlie Parker

He seems the right kind of project 'type' to use the rookie list on.
I do wonder whether we're considering him a HB prospect for a potential wing option. We do love our 'HB turned wingmen' type...
  3. Re: Welcome Jamarra Ugle-Hagan to the Western Bulldogs

It does feel like the penny has dropped and he's going to play a lot of football in 2022.
He already demonstrated that innate ability to lose his opponent a few times, something which will be very...

    Re: Best 22 for 2022

Based on his pre-season I have Marra in our round 1 side now (I probably wouldn't have a few weeks ago).
I don't think we can really shape the round 1 team until we know how much masking tape...
  5. Re: Welcome to the Westernbulldogs - Robbie McComb

He's our second rookie selection. I'm ok to add a 'plug and play' type to the list
Has he played much outside mid at VFL level? From memory he plays in the centre a lot

    Re: Tonights picks

    Not a bad comparison.
Seedsman is quietly becoming one of the better wingman in the competition. If Parker becomes half as good he'll get his name on a locker.
  7. Re: Welcome to the Westernbulldogs - Charlie Parker

I'd guess we're looking to him to be a 193cm wingman who can roll back into defence to provide aerial support.
    It's not the worst idea
  8. Re: Welcome to the Westernbulldogs - Robbie McComb

    Nugget!

Didn't realise he played as a defender in the WAFL. Wonder if he spends time back over summer

How good is the video him getting his name called out!
    Pure excitement.

Cleary seems more intercept than pure lockdown, although his tackles really seem ferocious.

Given we played almost everybody on our list last year and we made the finals we have the luxury of being able to take on some project types.
Cleary seems pretty advanced though, 12 months older...

Re: Welcome to the Western Bulldogs - Arthur Jones

I'm really really happy with this pick. Think we'll have to be patient as he's so light.
Anyone else get Harbrow vibes about his run & carry? Neat little sidestep. His kicking looks like Eddie...

    Re: Tonights picks

I assume we'll have two rookie upgrades (Sweet & Roarke) so after our pick 41 (which should have a decent player in that range), we have the flexibility to pass if the players we like are gone.

    Player numbers for 2022

We've had a few list changes and just grabbed Sam 'bargain' Darcy, so what numbers are we expecting to see allocated?

No 2 for Sam has a nice feel to it.
No 10 is now free, do we retire it for a...

Re: Sam Darcy:- Welcome to the Western Bulldogs

The stars aligned for him to grab it with Lewie moving on.

Maybe we'll get a super quick indigenous kid who would suit 40 (Harbrow mk 2)
No 10 is also now free

Premiership Full Back Fletcher Roberts than you very much!
If Sam wins a premiership I'd be over the moon.

Rare to have a kid judge the ball in flight so well yet be so agile at ground level....

    Re: Preseason Training 2022

I get the feeling that Bedendo is just a Hannan injury away from debuting. His spring is great, he just has that little 'something' that's worth persisting with.

Let's not forget Gold Coast lost Jarrad Lyons for nothing, and Martin walked to the PSD. This just a couple of weeks after shopping around Darcy McPherson to no takers. Rabble.

It's a weird one - why not use Darcy McPherson instead who was shopped around but had no takers? Far less risky.

  36. Re: Pick a fringe player and predict his future in 2022

It's an interesting argument over Dale or Williams who would be better able to make the transition.
