Re: Have they gone too Early

I think they have gone waaaaaay tooo early. Naughton is a star, but in reality 2021 was the first time we managed to get the majority of a season out of him.

Cody is on the right path, but could...

That was a tough read. Its tough being made redundant when you are in your 40's and 50's but have had the chance to build a career.

    Re: Fixture 2022

as it should be. We made a GF and were top 4 for most 2021.
  6. Re: Welcome Dominic Bedendo to the Western Bulldogs

This kid could be a surprise packet. Looking forward to seeing how he goes year 2
  7. Re: Pick a fringe player and predict his future in 2022

Spot on. He relies on his athletecism to get him to the contest and against VFL players he is fine. Against AFL players that lack of a natural feel for the game puts him at a disadvantage.

    Its...
  8. Re: Pick a fringe player and predict his future in 2022

Wallis - the Bruce injury opens up a spot and whilst Schahe will have the inside running I think Wally will find a way o break into the team and make his presence felt
  9. Re: Some Big names coming up for Contract renewal at end of 2022

No. We tend to hold on to guys and the only one in recent memory that went on to be a guy we really could have done with was Lake. Maybe Ward as well. We have replaced the rest.

Re: Have we cut deep enough this year?

Right calls made for me. Wally keeping pressure on Cody, Vanders, Hannan etc will be key. No one will wan to drop their guard.
  11. Re: Welcome Jamarra Ugle-Hagan to the Western Bulldogs

We freaked on Ayce. The Saints went early on him and we should have let him go. Would have been a lot of angst and aggro from the supporter base, but he wasn't top 20 and we knew it.

Re: On the day - The CBD conundrum.

Why? I don't think this made one bit of diffference to the result. Cordy did his job.

Re: Sam Power, List Boss - From Start to Now

Getting another ruck would be great, but I think keeping Sweet, seeing english develop for another year and eeking games out of Martin is actually not a bad strategy for 2022 if a decent ruck is not...
  14. Re: Welcome to the Western Bulldogs, Tim O'Brien

I don't know much about him other than the game he played against us in Tassie. What I will say is that whilst he's been on a list for 9 years, for 4 or 5 of them he would have been a young kid in a...

Re: Lets make the hard calls

I agree. Whilst a Grundy or a Goldy would be fabulous, Sweety is worth keeping and persisting with. He was good in most games he played this year.

  18. Re: Things you don't say when your side is 3 goals up in the 3rd quarter of the GF

I can honestly say that I said all three. I am still chuckling at the way it played out!

There is no way to ease the pain. Laughing about it helps.

    Re: Where's the pain ?

That to me is the scariest feeling. Maybe this was it. Maybe in my whole life I get to see the doggies play in 2 GF's (one live and one of TV) and that's it. I am gutted, angry, disappointed,...
  20. Re: Bankers & Anchors: Grand Final edition, 2021 vs Melbourne

    B's

    1) The Bont- kicked 3 straight and led from the front. Did all he could to get us over the line;
    2) Treloar - quiet 1st quarter, but gave us the spark we needed in the 2nd and ran riot
    3) R...
  21. Things you don't say when your side is 3 goals up in the 3rd quarter of the GF

    1. We got this and The Bont is going to win the Norm Smith. Who needs a Brownlow!

    2. That Baily Fristch is a hack. Woody has owned him today!

    3. Our midfield is unstoppable!
  22. Re: The Moment: Grand Final Edition 2021 vs Melbourne

Agree. Melbourne were always going to surge in the third. Our job was to hold them. The fact they kicked 4 straight to hit the front and then another should have had alarm bells ringing. With 50...
  23. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread - 2021 AFL Grand Final vs Melbourne

I agree. Bold move to bring Red Ed back in, but gee it would be good to see him out there!
  24. Re: Melbourne V Western Bulldogs - 2021 Grand Final Thread

All set for tomorrow morning. Table booked at the Regent in Balham SW London. Not nervous, but will be come 10:15am - fry up with pints!
  25. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread - 2021 AFL Grand Final vs Melbourne

And Cordy wouldn't be shattered. There are no easy answers in this one. Team comes first
  26. Re: The Real Slim Shady… Will our role players stand up?

Who Melbourne should really tag though is Daniel. If you were going to have a guy in our backline to sit on it would be Daniel, because he more often than not is the one who gets us out of the tight...

Re: Which PF Win Was Better: 2016 or 2021

2016 still chokes me up. It was an emotional win, almost like beating Brissy the week before because another minute and game could have gone the other way.

2021 was a masterclass in pressure...

Re: Where has our Finals Squad come from?

Dalrymple. He has built this list. Don't get me wrong Power has done a great job, but this recruiting is mostly Dalrymple. Wonder if we will rue his departure to Sydney.

  37. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Finals Week 3

Our forwards have to make Alir Alir accountable. He cannot be allowed to take uncontested marks and repel forward entries with ease. I still think Josh at the back and Cordy gets a lock down role...

  39. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Finals Week 3
