  1. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 8 Vs Carlton 2021

As much as Khamis is not a KPD, are we at the point where we put him in (for Cordy) to create a mismatch when the ball is on the deck?
Crozier and Wood have been very good interceptors in the past...
  2. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 8 Vs Carlton 2021

English didn't go into the ruck until the second half IIRC. Lewie has actually played decent VFL games as a ruck/forward (esp in 2019) so he's no mug in the ruck. I actually didn't think he was too...
  3. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 8 Vs Carlton 2021

The fact that Young was given his chance before Cordy was surely shows that the MC do have a preference for Young's athletic profile. His GC game was terrible (just non-competitive) and his game...

    Got my ticket.

Last game I moved seats at quarter time and sat with someone I recognised anyway.

    Re: 2021 Trade Target/s

Hamling's teammate Cox is also 194cm and does well.
Grimes is much better as the third though, brilliant at stopping his opponent then helping out teammates.

    Re: 2021 Trade Target/s

McKenzie is 'ok' but not KPD sized.
If we want a 193cm defender, J-Kolo from Geelong would probably suit us a little better than Rotham.
  8. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 8 Vs Carlton 2021

    Spot on.
There are mistakes that fade with time (e.g. Garnder's composure, Smith getting caught with the ball in his first few games) and there are non-negotiables.

    Re: 2021 Trade Target/s

We chased him prior to his last contract signature.
    Ditto Ben McKay
    Ditto Dougal Howard

    We're definitely chasing KPDs.
I wonder if Hombsh is a chance to move clubs again if GCS don't see him...
  10. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 8 Vs Carlton 2021

Young will have to perform at VFL level first before getting a game.
JJ could be in a spot of bother if VDM is available

Re: Time to pull the Liam Jones move.

    I disagree with this immensely.
If a player is given a role at AFL level, they must fulfil that role. Lipinski's defensive efforts are still a big area of concern, and comparing a guy who gets...
  14. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 8 Vs Carlton 2021

Because Young played like Cordy did last game, but without the competitiveness.

The problem was the midfield losing 7+ centre clearances in a row in the 3/4rd quarter, not a KPD we already knew...

West, Hannan, Schache - I'm confident they sure as hell will show up
  16. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 7 Vs Richmond 2021

Fritch is their 'do everything' forward and rightly so.
Personally I think Hannan is a good forward or a mediocre wingman. He's possibly underdone too so at least we won't do anything silly like...
  17. Re: Replacing Dunks - Short term view vs Long term view

Option 2 - just adjust the rotations slightly.
Bont/Libba/Treloar/Smith/Macrae can cover the bulk of centre square attendances, with Lippi/West pinch hitting inside occasionally.

    Lippi is a...

Re: WB Game Day V Richmond R7 2021

On raw natural talent, I have him behind the Bont and only marginally. Perhaps Caleb could mount an argument. End of list.

Whether he does the work to exploit that natural talent is another thing...
  23. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 7 Vs Richmond 2021

  25. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 7 Vs Richmond 2021

It looked like his minutes were being managed last Thursday. I don't think he's going to be considered this week.
  26. Re: Anyone know why Dunkley returned to the field?

Nope. He's had no problems with his reconstructed shoulder though which is a positive

Re: Jamarra - How excited are YOU???

There is little substitute for match fitness.
I think he's close to Bont in terms of natural talent but he just isn't ready and I think it will be many weeks before he is.

Re: Jamarra - How excited are YOU???

Not many teams would have a no 1 and no 2 draft pick playing VFL simply due to competition for spots.

Re: Where does JJ fit into the 2021 Bulldogs team?

Defensive forward pushing up to the wing. The role we've tried to get McLean and Ed Richards to play.

  30. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 7 Vs Richmond 2021

Naughton plays high and expose Juice to anyone they put on him.

I think they'll try and keep Balta as the deepest defender though.
  31. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 7 Vs Richmond 2021

I actually think Gardner would have been a very solid player back in the man on man defence days.

  33. Re: Anyone know why Dunkley returned to the field?

Because a yelling, adrenaline charged 190cm 92kg competitive beast Dunkley who feels no pain is hard to reason with?
  34. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 7 Vs Richmond 2021

Wood is in decent form and Crozier is building. We should be able to get some sort of system going that allows our interceptors to chop guys out if our mids run defensively, which is only an 'if' as...
  35. Re: Always Right Match Committee - Round 7 Vs Richmond 2021

He gets another game, but he did look slow to react.
Young isn't the answer and Cordy is showing he isn't either. Khamis is 190cm and not a KPD at AFL level.

Can we all just agree that we need...
