Re: Dermie's Fittest Fat blokes best 22

Yeah, I don't get why Jeff was picked?

Lally Bamblett, what a star he was in 1985, 50 goals in a forward pocket next to Simon Beasely who kicked 105.

  5. Re: Coronavirus: could the 2020 AFL season be called off?

That is one of the scenario the AFL is thinking about. Not quite an Island, but rather three clusters where the players are isolated and they play. Dangerfield says it is a no go.
  6. Re: My favourite Bulldog for each jumper number #

Dempsey was the best player I ever saw in the number 24 and also one of the all time best ruckman.

Poll: Re: Rating our list 2020

I know the big guys take longer to mature, but I just don't see anything in Ryan. I was flabbergasted when he was a), picked up in the mid season draft, and b) picked to play round 1.

    His skill...
  8. Poll: Re: The most famed bulldogs guernsey number?

Georgie was a star and yes he should have won the Brownlow in 1969 missing by one vote. In round 14 against Carlton at Princes Park, (we lost by 2 points), Georgie was reported by the umpires. In...

  10. Re: Revealed: AFL's 10 best young key forwards

Over the years of following footy, I have found, the hardest role to fill is a key forward. We have a beauty in Aaron, and that is where I would keep him.
  11. Re: My favourite Bulldog for each jumper number #

I know I have said it before, but 1985 was almost my favourite season of footy.

  13. Re: My favourite Bulldog for each jumper number #

How many times did we see him kick bags of 9, 12, etc. Copped alot of of punches to the back of the head getting those contested marks
  14. Re: My favourite Bulldog for each jumper number #

Hard to disagree with those. I guess some could add the players they have seen in the jumper.

    For example:

I only saw Teddy Whitten in his last few years that I can remember, some may have...

Re: Eastdog's Match Day Elimination Final Thread

    Suckling played against the Hawks.

Another great game from the boys after being down almost 23 points in the 2nd quarter, then getting up to over 40 points ahead in the last, then easing off as...
  16. Re: Game Day AFL Week 3 Preliminary Final - GWS Giants V Western Bulldogs

The other thing I noticed was the small things, like in the third quarter when Picken does a hand ball along the ground, somehow, Macrae flicks it up to Libba who then passes it forward. Then Dahl...

  18. Re: AFL to ‘take unprecedented control’ of clubs with claims only FOUR could survive without help

Yes the sale of the pokies, plus profits over the last 5 or so years.

Looks like the redevelopment may have to wait if there is no footy this year
  19. Re: The best (at their best ) Bulldog's side since 1985

Andrew Purser was considered by Mick Malthouse as the best ruckman he has ever coached. He was sensational for a couple of years including 1985.

Re: Eastdog's Match Day Elimination Final Thread

I watched it last week. We killed West Coast, and that was no mean feat. They had come off a winning streak of 10 in a row including a win over GWS at Spotless. I think they went into the game...

I took it as an example of the academy/FS discussion.

Pretty sure that would be the reason.
  23. AFL to ‘take unprecedented control’ of clubs with claims only FOUR could survive without help

    Link

Only four AFL clubs would be able to survive through 2020 without help from the league and HQ will need to take further control of their bank accounts, reports Nine.

    West Coast, Richmond,...

You can't compare a preseason practice match to the proper season. Currently Sweet has nil games under his belt and is completely unknown. He is potential, and that is all.
