Sticky: Re: Injury List - 2021

Hopefully it is not as catastrophic as the last bloke we had do that. The memory is a bit fuzzy on this, but did it pretty much put a line through Darcy’s career?

Re: John Patton in big strife

Haha, I did notice that after my post but rather than editing I thought I’d leave it in as an Easter egg of sorts.

I am no psychologist, but I suspect Patton likely has a personality disorder of...

From all reports we have likely only seen the tip of the iceberg so far too. Apparently his offending has been indiscriminate and in no short supply and you would imagine that the floodgates of...

    Agree.

Also, insert image of Hardwick doing cartwheels. This is just what the doctor ordered for him.

    Re: Preseason Training 2021

It wonít let me add a photo (it always tells me I am over my quota despite having no usage) but does Lin Jong look much, much stockier?

It could be that he is a little out of shape post injury,...
  6. Re: How Sydney Stack went from being ignored in two drafts last year to cult hero status in four games

I have this vision of the AFL and Richmond putting it in the “too hard/better things to do” basket over their Christmas breaks. I just can’t understand how else he wasn’t out in a day (or that he...
  7. Re: How Sydney Stack went from being ignored in two drafts last year to cult hero status in four games

I just can’t believe he actually sat in there for two weeks. Can you imagine this happening to a player with a higher profile?
  8. Re: How Sydney Stack went from being ignored in two drafts last year to cult hero status in four games

What the hell is going on?

Richmond Tigers star Sydney Stack remains stuck behind bars over alleged COVID-19 breach

Richmond player Sydney Stack could spend another two weeks behind bars as he...

    Re: 2021 - Richmond

As per my comment in the above post, the circumstances are very similar. Richmond might be playing a straight bat, but the word is that there is a bit of furore internally. Potential double standards...

    Re: 2021 - Richmond

Actually, the Richard Simkiss case is eerily similar to this one. He had an affair with an AFL legal staffer whose role apparently didn’t cross paths with his and she didn’t report/answer to him in...

    Re: 2021 - Richmond

Itís an interesting test case for the AFL. If what has been reported is accurate, with precedent set at AFL house Hardwick has to be shown the door.

I suspect pulling the trigger on a couple of...
  12. Re: 2021 Wooden Spoon and bottom 6

Oh man, Essendon finishing bottom would be pretty excellent. But I can’t see any outcome other than North finishing last considering the self-inflicted exodus. In a way Adelaide and Essendon being...
  13. Re: Jackson Trengove-welcome to the Bulldogs.

Went on and had a look. He was refreshingly open and seemingly genuine with his responses to people on a wide range of questions.

    Key takeaways:
-Is understandably a Power supporter (kept a close...
  14. Re: How Sydney Stack went from being ignored in two drafts last year to cult hero status in four games

Have they though? The only information I can find was that 106 were charged to the end of August, with only around half being convicted. Of the 50 odd, at least 40 received fines only.

    Even this...
  15. Re: How Sydney Stack went from being ignored in two drafts last year to cult hero status in four games

You can be damn sure if it was Fyfe ignoring the rules to go surfing again, or Buckley to have a hit of tennis (or more?) again, no expense would have been spared and the lawyers would have them out...
  16. Re: How Sydney Stack went from being ignored in two drafts last year to cult hero status in four games

There are undoubtedly some robust conversations that need to be had around some of the decision-making, but I feel for the kid. I remember reading a post you put on post-draft and it provided some...

I was supposed to fly over for that one, but changed plans late. Still haven’t forgiven myself. No team I hate more than the Bombers to rub salt in the wounds.
  19. Re: McGuire stepping down as President of Collingwood

Pies really are copping a battering at the moment. They announced a $1.8 million loss for 2020 yesterday (which actually isn’t a bad result considering their revenue dropped $25 million.

  29. Re: Jamarra - How excited are YOU???

They’d be silly not to. We have to hope that they remain a basket case (like I needed another reason to).
  30. Re: Jamarra - How excited are YOU???

Very excited, but I am trying to keep a lid on it. Tom Boyd is a cautionary tale that lingers. I know that Tom was colossal when it mattered most, but he was supposed to be an unstoppable key forward...

    I'll bite.

    1. JUH (because the Crows are jerks)
    2. Thilthorpe (because the Crows are gutless and won't back themselves in to be able to keep McDonald)

  33. Re: Welcome to the Westernbulldogs Adam Treloar

Ok, I shudder to think about the impact on Treloar, but am I right in thinking that we could actually pull the plug on the deal and Collingwood have to keep him?

    From my understanding, teams have...
  34. Re: Welcome to the Westernbulldogs Adam Treloar

I agree. The AFL always act in a sensible, transparent way. There is no way they would encourage back/front ending and risk more clubs finding them in the mess Collingwood are in.

    Wait...what?

    Re: Our 2021 bolter

  37. Poll: Re: Rating our list 2020 Zaine Cordy 12

Much maligned, but I think he is still best 22 or thereabouts. Often asked to compete against players much bigger than him and has a bit of mongrel and feistiness that we often generally lack.

    I...
  38. Re: North Melbourne where are they at?

Anyone else want Gia to get the job if, for no other reason, that he wouldn’t be at Essendon?
  39. Re: Delisting and Retirements - 2020

Totally agree. It seems long overdue anyway, but if JUH is the generational talent everybody expects him to be then we should be leaving no stone unturned.

Essendon coming for Dunkley should be...
