Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022

I heard McCartin talk the other day and I would be surprised if he is looking to move. Seems to like it up there and is very appreciative for the opportunity he received. It's obviously still has...

  4. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 22 v GWS Giants at Marvel on Saturday

Good point. I think we can all see some value in Garcia but it's not like he has really made the spot in the seniors his own.

Dermott Breton was confident he would as well.
  7. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 22 v GWS Giants at Marvel on Saturday

It's interesting that of all the discussion with the ins and outs Hunter's inclusion isn't making a stronger headline.
  8. Re: Why do we seem to think adding players is 'The Answer'?

I think we are missing a couple of lower key additions, wasn't Jed Adcock north of 30 when we rookied him?

I guess we didn't trade for Adcock or Brett Goodes
  9. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 22 v GWS Giants at Marvel on Saturday

Alternate view but it's exactly what I expect them to do.

Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022

At a guess Carlton will get compensated but I'm not convinced we will lose anything. He did after all retire.
  11. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 22 v GWS Giants at Marvel on Saturday

Getting Bruce ready for the finals.

Whilst selection integrity has been a challenge for us this year if we have really put a line through Schache for next season I guess it's fair enough.
  12. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 22 v GWS Giants at Marvel on Saturday

Managed not omitted. It hasn't happened yet.
  13. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 22 v GWS Giants at Marvel on Saturday

While I don't quite get Martin coming in it is at least off the back of a very good performance.
Schache performance was obviously devalued considering the quality of the opposition.

Re: Honest reflection and the path forward

Morris was going into a development role before the cutbacks and ended up in the player sponsors coterie.
I think he would be good in that role.

Boyd would demand that players work hard and if we...

Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022

More of a footballer but quick off the mark. I've got similar concerns that he may not be ready from round one but if he puts in some hard yards now he can close the gap. When he left us he and...

Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022

Goal kick challenges aside Gawn has looked pretty good as a forward but yes it's not an ideal fit.

That's something like 500K they would be chipping in next season.
    Given their ladder...

Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022

Assuming that's not a one off payment it's a sizeable commitment for 5 years.
I suspect Melbourne will really consider that.
  19. Re: Why do we seem to think adding players is 'The Answer'?

With some slight variations it probably should be something like best available with the first two picks matching needs a bit later.
I guess nothing is that rigid.
  20. Re: Why do we seem to think adding players is 'The Answer'?

The principle is sound but at times there is a reset option to this approach.
With two longer term prospects at the key positions in recent years selected our focus might switch slightly.
    There...

Re: Trade Dunkley? Not tonight Josephine.

Exactly. We need the Saints or Hawks to show some interest.
  23. Re: Why do we seem to think adding players is 'The Answer'?

Was it good enough to hold his spot in your opinion?

I'd say he's unlikely to be dropped but there might be a slight chance.

Re: List Managment thread (For 2022)

Darcy will make it and his field kicking will improve. Like with most taller youngsters we are just going to have to be patient with him.
