Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022

I stand corrected, thought Lake was older than that. Jones has been a more than very good and for longer than 2 years. He might not have a longer or better body of work than Lake but he has been a...

Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022

Hawthorn gave Lake 3 years at an older age to Jones and he was never one of the great trainers of all time. I'm not sold on the 3 years but there is precedent that it can work and work well.

    Jones...

With our need to bolster key position stocks, I'm looking forward to seeing Dodoro offer up Mark Bolton and Aaron Henneman on the trade table

I'm on team Goldy, but that would require an honest conversation about English and his true worth for the betterment of the team. Likewise the see-ball get-ball mids need to have an honest...

Re: AFL Game Day R21 2022

I'm actually underwhelmed by the possibility of making finals. We have consistently showed we are nowhere near the contenders this year.

Re: AFL Game Day R21 2022

We hardly deserve it, but Brisbane have whittled Carlton's percentage to only 1.8% ahead of ours and they won't have Cripps for the last 2 against Melbourne and Collingwood, both of whom are better...
  13. Re: Three things you've learned. Round twenty one 2022 v Fremantle

Also known as all team defence. Some other clubs are pretty good at this, most of whom are in the top half of the ladder.
  14. Re: Three things you've learned. Round twenty one 2022 v Fremantle

Agree 100%, the sole ultimate reason we didn't win a flag in 2021 was directly a result of our star studded midfield group completely losing control and any semblance of defensive shape in 8 minutes...
  15. Re: The unofficial "Where is T&T?" who to root for thread

They've already won 3 in this era, so if they get another one they will be no more unbearable and it just deprives the other contenders of the glory this year. Don't want Geelong to salute the judges...
  16. Re: Three things you've learned. Round twenty one 2022 v Fremantle

Toby McLean deserves first crack at this Geoege Hewitt style defensive mid role. I don't think we need to trade draft currency for anyone else. I also think we need to have some direct conversations...
  17. Re: The unofficial "Where is T&T?" who to root for thread

Richmond are home for finals and I am all on board the Tigger train for 2022. Shai Bolton is total box office - hands down the best opposition player to watch in the entire competition. I can't...

On every metric, 2022 has been a miserable failure across all aspects of the footy dept. They have failed woefully to get even close to their on-public record expectations. It is akin to the massive...

Why was that a free to Gawn? Mason was just being unco in the Ben Brown mould
  20. Re: The unofficial "Where is T&T?" who to root for thread

The finals series will be so much more entertaining if Richmond and the Dogs can make the final 2 spots at the expense of St Kilda and Carlton.
  21. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 20 vs Geelong at GMHBA Stadium

Wouldn't Gardner be a better match-up for Cameron? He's an athletic beast who can blunt Cameron's athletic prowess. Maybe Buku could as well? But he is very green and might get torched early on.

Re: List Managment thread (For 2022)

Lake was a similar age profile when he went to ther Hawks, and he was never exactly a ripping athletic specimen - it didn't seem to slow him down in his 3rd year at the Hawks. He was definitely...
  23. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 20 vs Geelong at GMHBA Stadium

Naughts is a competitive bugger and Bruce might go from 3 possessions to 2 as a result of the weather. JUH is quite nimble and looks like he can handle the slop. The rain also negates their rebound...

Re: List Managment thread (For 2022)

I really like JJ but if he is an unrestricted FA, it could be a win-win for player and club. A Norm Smith medallist in the top echelon of paid players at the club should net us a decent pick as...

    Re: 5 man interchange

10 interchanges max per qtr and none in general play. Then I could live with 5 on the bench and no subs.
  26. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 20 vs Geelong at GMHBA Stadium

What's the weather forecast? It's rubbish in Melbourne tonight, so if there's more rain tomorrow it mitigates their aerial advantage somewhat.
  27. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 20 vs Geelong at GMHBA Stadium

Both options are not great, but I'd rather go with the player the MC think can better run the ground and get from contest to contest - Keath just doesn't look right physically and will get destroyed...
  28. Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 20 vs Geelong at GMHBA Stadium

More annoyed at McNeil being omitted than Keath. We just look better balanced in the front half with him in there pressuring the opposition rebounders.

Keath has been playing like a busted and is...

Darcy Gardiner is a good ultra defensive stopper but he gets injured a lot. Worth a look at the right price and assuming he is physically ok.

Plough had some success there from 1998-2001. Otherwise it has been very slim pickings at that $300m taxpayer funded pork barrell pissant toy ground with no wings shithole.
