    Re: Proactive Poaching

Bailey Williams I still see as being able to contribute.
Dale I'm not sure on anymore. He looked terrible at senior level this year and forwards who can't provide forward pressure just don't get...

I held hope over the pre-season, I think he might be a year or two away from that yet. He may end up back behind the ball depending on how our list changes play out too, we don't have anyone that...

    Amon, Day and Dawson appeal.

Cutler is quality but he seems much better behind the ball from my limited viewing of him.

    Re: Proactive Poaching

We need a second wing to pair with Hunter. We are definitely after outside speed so I'm not surprised we're interested.

Re: Development of Players - Questions

The race was open as of JLT2 between Trengove and English.

Trengove was better at the coalface, English was better around the ground. I actually think English in recent weeks has shown he can be...

Do you think he needs an extra week or two to get his match fitness right up? I suspect he'll earn his chance in coming weeks.

I'd offer our 2020 first rounder. He's not just an outside small forward finisher, he's strong and has mongrel. I love that competitive streak.

Re: Fixing our ****ing awful goal kicking

We simply have to open the chequebook and get Anthony Rocca into the club for the upcoming pre-season. If he can fix Casbault, he can fix anybody.

Quality guy off field to boot.
  10. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread Round 14, Vs Collingwood

Roarke hasn't played HBF this year. He's rotated between wing and defensive forward, deserves his call-up.

Re: Our game plan / style / tactics are solid

If Schache is leading at the ball carrier he's best off staying back to split the tall defenders and to provide the second option.
  12. Re: Three things you have learned round 14 2019 v Collingwood.

He's only one month older than Lachie Young who I think has done an amazing job as a wiry, under developed kid to earn a debut. We're excited about his future.

Lewie has real AFL attributes and...
  13. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread Round 15, Vs Port Adelaide

Who can actually tackle de Goey? He's marginally behind Stringer as a forward who can break tackles.
On our list I'd back in a fit Dale Morris and perhaps Libba.
  14. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread Round 15, Vs Port Adelaide

    No change.

Changing the 21st or 22nd player won't make a difference and I think Roarke deserves another chance.

Rhylee West close to getting a run.
  15. Re: Bankers and Anchors: Rnd 14, 2019 vs Collingwood

    B-

Macrae had 8 tackles to halftime. Huge workrate
    Daniel was ridiculous
Schache + Lloyd. It's almost like playing forwards as forwards makes the forwardline work better.

    A -

    Again, we...

Re: WB Game Day V Collingwood R14 2019

More scoring shots, we lose the game. This is becoming a sadly familiar narrative.

We definitely have the effort just not the finishing ability.

  18. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread Round 14, Vs Collingwood

I'd say Wood has to go to him, Trengove to Cox and Cordy to Mihocek.

They play tall Collingwood, Stephenson out helps a little. They seem a bit different to other sides in that their drive is...

  22. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread Round 14, Vs Collingwood

Hasn't played much HBF from what I've seen at VFL level. Played as a defensive forward (is Crisp that dangerous? He's consistent but I'd be shutting down Sidebottom) and on the wing. I think there's...

  24. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread Round 14, Vs Collingwood

Hayes has the tank by all accounts. The other option is McLean who at least is good enough overhead to play a smaller 'get out' role down the line if he's matched on on Sidebottom.

    We have a very...

  26. Re: Three things you have learned round 13 2019 v Carlton.

    1. English will be a star

    2. Naughton chases hard, constantly

    3. When we really needed him, Hunter lifted.

With all due respect to Jong, if he's the difference between us winning or losing we're in trouble.
  33. Re: Always Right Match Committee Thread Round 13, Vs Carlton

Allows McLean to take midfield rotations (where he played his best football) and Dunkley stays in the midfield too.
