    Re: 2020 Player movement

Isn't it great having two big VIC clubs playing off in the GF? It's great for footy i reckon.

Losing Good Friday was pathetic from the AFL. And to give it to Essendon one year even more so. The biggest crowds were when we were involved. Honestly it's North who can't pull the numbers. It...

So what is the main driver for players to go to these same teams? Is it playing in front of large crowds? Money? Culture? Success? I mean why the hell is it always the same teams. I was astonished...

I don't think anyone is suggesting the club is a failure. What we failed in is continuing the on field success after a premiership. The influence of the premiership on off field success is too...

Yeah as amazing as the achievement of the 2016 premiership was, the aftermath has been as much a failure. We really did not handle the success well at all.

    Re: 2020 Player movement

It’s an uphill battle for the smaller clubs. You have the big clubs getting the blockbuster fixtures which leads to more money and larger attendances which then leads to getting the big name free...

We can only hope. But it’ll depend on whether the coaching group actually believe severe problems exist. Time will tell. None of us want to see Dunks contend a single ruck contest for the rest of his...

Re: How grateful I am for 2016

In some ways it's perfect that it's the tigers and cats. Both sets of fans have experienced multiple flags recently so it won't feel particulary special for them. Imagine if the Saints had won it....

    Re: Brownlow Medal 2020

I agree. The coaches understand who is having the biggest impact. The media get caught up in their own hype and love to focus on the superstars too much and the players can't be trusted. I think as...

Yep. The Umps aren't in a position to determine who is having the most influence on a game. They're just noticing who gets it the most. Who they saw the most after a game. I don't blame them. They've...

  18. Re: 2020 Finals Footy - the Prelims and Grand Final Discussion

  20. Re: Do you like wet weather footy?

I enjoyed the game last night as well. When the intensity and pressure is up it doesn’t matter if it’s low scoring. Port fumbled quite a bit more than the tigers which was the difference in the end....

We also beat every team in the comp except Geelong who we only played once down at the cattery. Lost Libba that game after losing Wally and Redpath the week prior. Nearly pinched it in any case.

Let's say the tigers win the flag this year. If you look at the last 20 flags:

    Hawthorn - 4
    Tigers - 3
    Geelong - 3
    Brisbane - 3
    West Coast - 2
    Sydney - 2
    Collingwood - 1
    Bulldogs - 1
