We'd be lauding one of our boys if we did in the exact same circumstances. They had to do something.
IIRC Hawks had the next shot on goal so... it worked.
He was terrible in the first half.
Hard to step up from VFL and be the main guy but the idea he is some sort of effective ruck just needs to be put to bed.
Hit-outs mean very little in the modern...
4. Liberatore
3. West
2. Bontempelli
1. Macrae
2. West
1. Naughton
I rate Scott's kicking too.
We have enough accumulators already. His DE is more important than his disposal count.
He's certainly fared better then de Goey.
We get the Hun delivered to work and flicking through the pages you'd think he'd assaulted the Queen with the Mona Lisa and escaped in a stolen car driven...
I've seen calls for us to look at Sam Collins from GCS.
He's 194cm, he measures his time trial via sun dial, and he's an ok kick at best.
He's also a very good fullback.
If you're good...
1. Bont is playing hurt - really hurt - but still has his moments that change the game.
2, West has an aerial ability I did not know existed. I've thought of him before as a Viney-type player but...
If (in my uneducated opinion) we could poach any assistant coach in the comp, he's my pick.
He's nowhere near full minutes yet is he? Makes sense to build him up slowly
Larynx too brittle. Pass
BOG last game and damn near to it the week before.
Selection integrity matters.
I suspect one of JUH or Schache could stay in the side when Bruce is back, IF they grab their opportunity. I...
We seem to love a tougher nut HF or two and right now I'd say West is leading the pack.
I don't buy the size argument - he's bigger than Neale/Gresham the the same size as Rowell, Josh Ward, and...
Say what?
Take out Baz and we're still playing Dunks and Treloar as high forwards, and Rhylee West who is a contested animal hasn't had a single CBA that I can recall
Hence the Collingwood fan having a friendly 'chat' with Bailey about his break, and Bailey's reaction
If we miss out on McStay or Cameron - I am one of the few who would be interested in taking Lobb off Freo's hands if they really are letting him go.
What do you think AFL-standard talls cost?
Keath at $750k, Bruce similar, etc.
Preuss and Briggs both played vFL this weekend. We have to be in Briggs' ear?
Ryan Gardner for one - finding out you've been left out via media would be incredibly tough
Tin foil hat time - it was Sammy Power. Brutal list management.
"Yeah, I think you should accept that lower offer now Baz"
I agree. People forget just what AFL standard talls actually cost in the open market. He'd be getting paid less than Bruce or Keath on $600k pa.
Footscray would be pleased.
If Dunks and Treloar aren't getting their full compliment of mid minutes, Finley is no chance. He's ok but right now he's stuck behind Lipinski who is 'ok' but no real...
He's got Vezpremi's lungs - just a naturally low capacity (VO2 Max).
Would be a gun in the 80s.
I agree, see how it works. If Sweet offers anything up forward at all (which includes getting the hell out of Naughton's way and/or subtlety belting whichever backman goes to double-team Naughts) I'd...
We ask about Ben McKay every time he's OOC.
It's out of Sweet or Martin for the ruck battle this week.
Sweet doesn't have to be better than Martin to win selection, just be 'nearly as good' because we gain more in the long run.
If I was...
Like McComb and Wally at VFL level?
We ave Scott waiting as well if he passes his concussion tests
If we could somehow afford it, I would. Whether he would work with Bruce is a sticking point but Josh Bruce will be a 30 year old coming off an ACL when he plays AFL again.
Caleb Daniel BOG.
The first quarter will tell the tale. If we kick the first couple, the doubts will creep into their play.
May actually be worth starting Libba & Dunks in the centre for the first bounce as our...
Yep - say what you will about his disposal, but he was our best performer at VFL level and he's gotten two games on the back of that.
His 13 disposal game that day was more influential that any of Parish's 35+ disposal games
Lets face it - when he's on song, Jake is an absolute star but he's Jarrad Grant in a lot of ways - his...
IIRC we considered him too - our back up plan if Rozee, Smith and B King were taken
I'd argue our handball use is far more effective than Essendon's, but I'd argue right now the Keilor u13s handball it more effectively than Essendon too
If you watch them, it's not even the fact that they handball more than they kick - it's more that the handballs are often backwards to a player under just as much pressure as they are.
The "We Are...
Kicked 4 against Essendon's VFL side
Essendon are basically our search for a KPF for 20 years, always looking for a single messiah to save them rather than acknowledge that multiple people need to help all at once.
Another moment I liked - Dunks' tackle in our front half.
He buried him.
I liked it not because it turned the game, but because it showed ruthless intent despite the game being already won. That...
This might be the only chance this year to bring Sweet in, give Tim one more week of rest, play him with Martin and absolutely work over the opposition ruck division.
I don't think it's likely...
18 pressure acts. I can see some method to the MC madness, regardless of whether I agree with it or not.
Garcia, McComb, McNeill - we love our pressure type scrappers at HF
