Lake & Cooney Back On Track

Glenn McFarlane - Herald sun - 20 November

WESTERN Bulldogs captain Matthew Boyd believes teammates Brian Lake and Adam Cooney can recapture close to their best form after injury-ruined 2011 seasons.

While Boyd says the club wants a more even contribution from the entire group rather than relying on its stars, he knows a fit Lake and Cooney can have a big impact on the team's fortunes next year.

"They were both in similar positions where they just couldn't get their bodies going this year," Boyd said. "But they are progressing well and there has been no setbacks in their rehabilitation programs. Hopefully early in the new year we can see them out on the track a bit more and they can have more impact this year."

It's good to see Lake with some muscle definition. I'm expecting a big season from him.

Who is it behind him, on the left, with the grimace?

He certainly looks better than last year and actually I am not sure I've ever seen him look fitter

Well there seems to be less of a double chin there.

Great shot of Brian. He just needs to bring that determination and concentration to the game. God knows he's got the footy talent. All best for 2012 BL.

Had the same thought when I looked at the picture.

Most blokes look fit when they are in mid-effort.

Getting his repeat burst efforts up will take alot more loading, so hopefully he's out doing the intervals as soon as he can.
