We should have gone harder at signing Ward before we did which just allowed GWS and his manager to get into his ear. We were in the drivers seat for keeping but didn't read the play that well.

My boss pleaded with me to put some money on North and I'm kicking myself I'd didn't back them

I just sense Geelong will come close to North right at the end. Who knows the Cats could snatch but North have played well today and will hang on I think. I tipped Geelong.

Norf get the choccies in the battle of the Scott Bros. 8 goals to Bastinac and Ziebell, in the 17 point win.

    All of the above.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

With their draw, it is achievable - GWS and GC twice each is a great head start

Draw plays well into their hands, especially % wise. Having GWS last round doesn't hurt especially if fighting for a home final.

But I think Geelong,West Coast, Hawthorn and Carlton will be well head of them. 6th at absolute best for mine.

I think you are right in that they are still behind the pecking order of quite a few teams. But they would not need too many more upsets like yesterday to put them into calculations for 4th spot. All depends on the level of drop-off that 1-2 of the top 4 'certainties' might possibly have in 2012 - Collingwood already look in some bother with 3 knee recos on the list affecting depth, interrupted preparations for their key defenders (who are both injured again), and early struggles adapting to the new game plan. I would say Hawthorn, WC and Carlton are top 4 certainties, and Geelong should win enough games on talent alone to get up to 15+ wins as well.

Losing after the siren to Essendon in Round 1 will hurt Norf down the stretch I suspect.

At least Geelong got bent over as well.

I think we did ok out of the Harbrow compensation, it was what we did with it that was the mistake.

I am thinking West Coast will finish top two. Only injuries will hurt them. If they manage to beat Hawks in Perth this round they will be 2 games and % clear of Hawks, Pies and Cats.
