    Coach movements

Thought I'd start a thread where we can discuss coach movements in the off season.

Mark Harvey has quit the Lions, putting his hand up for the Bombres' interim position. Peter Schwab will oversee the new Lions coaching panel. Also in that article, former Bulldog Mitch Hahn will join the Lions in a development coaching role.

Simpson, Hardwick and Leon Cameron's reputations have been enhanced by spending time as an Assistant to Clarko at Hawthorn who is considered the best senior coach in the AFL.

Speaking of coach movements, Andy Collins had been announced as the new coach of Williamstown.

Has anyone heard if we are looking into getting some quality assistant coaching into the club?

I hear talk of good assistants like Burns, Tudor et al shuffling around as ambitious clubs make their moves. But what are we doing?

We would have to have the least experienced coaching panel in the league or close to it. I'd like to see us chasing one of these highly credentialled assistants. Preferably one from a recently successful club who has proven match day tactical nous.

Wouldn't mind Stewart Dew. On the young side but premierships seem to chase that bloke.

    He's contracted to Swans.

Fair enough. Heard his name thrown up for the senior assistant role at Melbourne under Roos a few weeks ago.

Yep, he could try to get out of Sydney (for the Dees) by claiming he is taking a more senior appointment. Or that's my understanding anyhoo.

Is Westy any good as a coach?

Absolutely one of the best players, and most consistent performers I've ever seen play for the club
