    Pretty damn wholesome.

How's this hard hitting piece of investigative journalism: "Hawkins was very public in his admissions last year that he found it “tough” to be away from his family for half the season."

Man misses family. More news at 11.

So. Does he win the Brownlow this year? He’s kicked more goals than any other midfielder. Over 27 disposals with heaps of clearances, goal assists and key numbers. Plus some weaker opponents to hopefully beat up on.

So this year is it, Charlie Bontempelli?

Yes, he must be leading the count right now.

It's his to lose right now. It's pretty clear he's the best player going around and he's always caught the eye of the umpires.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

    Re: Marcus Bontempelli

Ever since Matt Priddis won the Brownlow the AFL has convened at about the bye rounds to decide who they want to win the Brownlow with ~35 votes as to avoid the embarrassment of a Matt Priddis-type winning the Brownlow ever again. Seriously, even if COVID didn't kill the AFL then Jarryd Lyons winning the Brownlow just might.

Anyway, Bont's been annointed this year. Lock it in.

    Re: Marcus Bontempelli

Clear favourite now (ranging from $2.75-$2.88 fav).

    Polls votes against;

    - West Coast (2 or 3)
    - Gold Coast (3)
    - Carlton
    - GWS
    - Port (3)
    - St.K (3)
    - Freo (3)
    - Geel
    - West Coast (3)

Even if he only gets 1's in the games he isn't certain 3's....and gets a 2 when he was match winner v West Coast (Macrae was big) then he is sitting on 20. 8 games to go.

    Re: Marcus Bontempelli

Anyone worried about Macrae? He polled 15 to Bont's 10 last year, and his disposal numbers have remained high. Hopefully one of them consistently gets the votes and wins, rather than splitting it and both finishing fifth.

Covid may play havoc with the rounds to go yet. Not looking good for travel at the moment.

More importantly, who is he going to take as his date this year?

Bontempelli now holds a five-vote lead over Clayton Oliver in the AFLCA Voting.
