Yep. This is unbelievable. In a sadly believable way.

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
He also trashed his own club. His protracted legal battles and private war on the AFL made the whole saga worse than it should have been, left Essendon worse off (not that I care) and dragged out the outcome. Some of his actions were pure drivel - remember the claim that he provided a spreadsheet of what had been injected but the nasty AFL lost/destroyed it? (If so it would have been the biggest story of the whole saga. He showed no empathy for his players or those around him who took the fall, unlike him. Yet it's all meant to be ok with a comeback cameo on the biggest day and biggest stage of the year?

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
If they wanted to get him to do the presentation, they should have gone ahead and said "James Hird will present the Norm Smith medal" and be done with it.
Why they felt the need to invent some contrived 'tradition' in which the medalist 27 years prior does the presentation has got me stuffed.

It's typical of the mayo that lyers (liers?) feel compelled to spread over the bullshit stories they expect you to believe.

Bad times for Gil and the AFL. Ali Faoud promoted to diversity manager ironically the major sponsor was his brothers Australia Post and he had to resign now Lethlean and Simkiss gone with another one likely. Hird going to hand out the Norm Smith medal
Try as they must they might the AFL certainly has an image problem.

How's he going to repay the loans he has with shady figures. Allegedly.

As much as I dislike theage journalism team ( Bar Quayle ) , fingers crossed they crank up their cynicism and negativity to 11 on the dial regarding J.Hird giving out the Norm smith.

Means he can't stand for parliament. Dunno if he was planning on it but he can definitely cross it off the list now.

Not strictly part of this thread title but a residence owned by Bomber Thompson has been raided by the police. No charges have been laid and while there is some speculation lets wait to see if anything can or will be confirmed.

This won't do a lot for the rumour mongering that's been persistent on this topic and Thompson for a number of years now.
