When players are of a mindset that THEY need to get a goal, even when there is a better option completely free, that's someone who is thinking about self-preservation, and not the team. It's counter intuitive as well, in that his missing that goal now sits as a mark against him, whereas doing the team thing, would've been a big tick for him.
