Very sad day. Not being able to say goodbye is what's shit about it. I really hope we end up with somebody special with his pick.

Thanks Adam the memories will live on for eternity.

    Sad to see him go,

Won't forget that quarter in '05 when Will and Coons set Etihad alight with the best tap ruck work and roving I'd seen.

Also, in 2008 who would have predicted Cooney, Chapman and Goddard would one day play together at another club?

Its amazing the difference between the two threads ... Cooney Gone and Griffen Gone.

Not many bad words written about Cooney, yet Griff can rot in hell for all we care.

It wasn't the fact that Griff left us, it was the way he did it !!

Wasn't a great exit, but I still can't bag him.

Thanks for the memories. Such a great player when he was at full flight.
But Essendon?? Should of gone to to Norf.

If l saw Cooney l would buy him a beer.
If l saw #16 l would tip a beer over him.

Really disappointed to see this transpire. One of my favourites, I fondly recall those bursts out of the middle and some terrific natural talent. Always a bulldog in my eyes, won't enjoy seeing him with that mob.

Sorry to see Coons go, but glad it's been done without any acrimony. Both the club and him seem happy with the split.

    He's given us tremendous service.

Just saw something with the AFL Bulldogs calender for next season. You guessed it Griffen and Cooney are on it.
