    What a GREAT banner

"If you think Tom Boyd cost the earth try buying a coffee in Perth"

What a stupid banner for our first game! What's a coffee in Perth worth $5, $6 and that somehow equals a multi million dollar deal?? It doesn't even make sense. Not to mention its insulting to us and completely uninspiring. How does this crap get past the marketing department? There's a million better alternatives. My 3 second invention:

"In 2015 our young Dogs will shine and tonight on Eagle's they'll dine"

I missed seeing it. Glad I did, that makes no sense on a lot of levels.

I like the idea but they should have gone for something other than coffee. Perhaps "an indoor dunny" would have been better.

    Re: What a stupid banner

I personally think the idea of banners with slogans is old hat. Put the logo on there, that should be it.

How about "you think Tom Boyd was expensive, try a line of coke and a few years of rehab"

I was thinking of "You think Tom Boyd cost the Earth, try getting a good looking call girl in Perth"

    Re: What a stupid banner

Bit silly but I like our approach to put something funny and interesting on there instead of boring cliches

We're talking about it so in a way it worked
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Meh... who care, I like the intent, we're trying to do something different and I like that. I'm prepared to wear it if it misses the mark sometimes.

I thought it was hilarious. And it pretty much lit up social media for a while. Great work by all involved. Love to see plenty more like it!

Brilliant. Of course, you need to buy a coffee in perth to really get the joke.

    Re: What a stupid banner

Don't agree with the OP, I liked it. The slogans about dog's barking, snarling and ripping the opponents up are tired and inspire little, so today's was refreshingly different.
