    Re: Well Ruck Me.

Feels like going on a tour to India

Test 1: Beaten with a junior spinner
    Test 2: Same
Test 3: Competitive, but lost in the final session when their spinners cut us up
Gap: Do we fly out a new and experienced spinner or stay with the young spinners and guy who can’t stay fit. No we don’t need one. Send the part timer back to Carlton.
Test 4: Since there’s no other spinner we like, that spins it to our specific satisfaction, go into the test hoping our quicks cover for our sub standard spinner and hope our batsmen aren’t put to the sword by their spinner/s

If we can’t have Shane Warne or Nathan Lyon, what’s the point right. Maybe we can drop the spinner for an All Rounder that averages 15 with the bat and 42 with the ball with gentle medium pacers.

    No Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Sounds like the club should of been telling him that for the last couple of years... oh wait.

This is what’s bizarre. Either everyone is rejecting us, we’re strangely not sounding out ruckmen like Max because we don’t rate them or we don’t even want a ruckman. Strange.
Max Lynch has played 3 games, I doubt we would have even thought about chasing him

We can't be knee jerking off about guys like this.

Power is a good operator for this exact reason, he doesn't get sucked in he has a long term strategy.

Seriously I've never heard of this Lynch guy.

Of his 3 games, he played one against Gawn in the Queens Birthday game and did well. That is it

Their recent history isn't that encouraging.

They are rebuilding and don't have many young rucks. We have Sweet with 5 games, plus Timmy still maturing, and Darcy on the way.

We should be after a mature ruckman.

    Re: Well Ruck Me.

Would Fraser Thurlow be worth a rookie spot and back up ruck?

28yo was on Essendons list back in 2013 now plays for Southport and was averaging 31 hitouts this year.

Maybe not mobile enough for Bevo but he has some bulk.

His VFL form has been very good, and his endurance for a tall is outstanding.

This would be doing something. I am not sure that is the way we roll.

I'm not sure about the rationale here. We chased Hamling and Gardner who had been in a good system but never cracked it for a senior game at Geelong. In essence you do your homework and look for players you can bring to the club cheaply to address a weakness.

Just because Lynch hasn't played much doesn't mean we never had a look to see if he was someone of interest for us.

I think it's more the case of our club not being interested. I mean players leave for better opportunities so if I was a ruck looking for that my first thought would be "Get me to the Western Bulldogs" It seems strange to me but just can't see any other reason no rucks that could be available have not chosen us? Anyway onwards with Steph Martin in 2022.
