Yeah, we played cricket against Tony's team in juniors and there was something about him that set him apart. I've never been able to work out what it was. He was a really good player but it was more than just that, it was like he controlled the tempo of the game and knew what was about to happen.

The batsman would play a shot through square leg and you'd think "here's runs" but he'd be there fielding the ball when you'd seen him two balls before at second slip taking the ball from the keeper and throwing it back to the bowler.

One of my mates was opening the batting with Tony at St. John's , they put on 106 and my mate made 5.

Buddy just kicked 10 on Liam Jones

Wonder whether Liam will get games next year
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

For all the hoopla about Jones' reinvigoration, the two most dominant key forward performances of the year (this, and Hawkins' 27 touch, 6 goal effort) have been on him.

He definitely won't play next week.

I wonder how Carlton fans are dealing with Liam. One week he's ok. Next week Hawkin's slaughters him. Next week or two, he's ok. Then Buddy kicks 10 on him. Manic depressive I'd guess.

Now they're thinking about the next two years.

He must look like a superstar on the training track.

I wonder how many he's had kicked on since he's signed his extension?

The ones I have talked are stilly pretty happy with him. They realise he's not an A grade player but are comfortable that he's had a good season. They actually give me shit about the way both North and StKilda beat us with trades last year.

Then they don't watch games very closely. Koby Stevens is still a liability by hand or foot and we would have played him in fron of kids like Bailey Dale. They might have a point on Hrovat. He's a type we need in the side. Kicks goals and uses the ball well.

I don't agree, Hrovat is nothing outstanding. He played every game this year and averaged 17.4 disposals and kicked 14 goals.

I'm surprised he only kicked 14 goals. He seemed to kick a couple every time I saw north play. To be fair that was only a couple of times.

Precactly. They are an awful, hateful sight. There's plenty of things that annoy me on TV already without watching North games.
