Hopefully things don't get too tough or Riaan might start looking for the door.

I get up that way a fair bit (the in laws have a place in Victor Harbor). I will definitely try to catch a game and would love to shake his hand.

And he takes with him all his trophies and premiership medals ... oh wait.

Re: Following our ex's...................
I get confused how players retire through injury which has apparently got too bad, then go and play in local leagues .
Bring back the biff

The training and playing demands of the AFL as compared to a local league are worlds apart.
Depends on the injury of course but if his back is the issue then I would imagine dramatically decreasing the kms he has to cover in training and games would make things much easier.

With redpath it’s his knees so I imagine that would be a problem no matter what grade I Would have thought.

The physical demands would be less and you know yourself when you get older and start to fall back through the grades the first few games at a lower level you play well because a/ you really don't want to be shown up by players who aren't at your level and b/ you have learned how to duck and dive and take shortcuts while still being an effective player.
Ryan will be fine and props to him for going back to his roots. I hope it works out for him and he enjoys his footy from now on because he looks like he has done anything but that these last few years.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Granted the training demands are less, but I would have though that the recovery processes, the physio's and medico's are non-existent

Granted it's nowhere near an AFL level but my club has trainers, masseuses, physios/chiros available for players and I dare say most clubs would have some level of professional care for the players. Paid players should be expected to fork out for their own treatment out of their payments as well.

Redpath has signed with Deer Park. Short odds for 7 in a row I'd have thought.

They cheat, how else can they get away with it?. I can only think that the WFRL aren't that concerned with the crowds and the publicity they attract.
