Did we have a handful of players that played their best ever footy in that period?

Add in Roughead as a ruck and Picken being one of the best players in the comp for a month.

I can remember The Doctor kept bumping the thought that we had to get Hamling re-signed but I don't think we were proactive in that area until much later in the season.
Despite the go home factor it's clearer now that had we been pro-active we probably could have kept him.

Don't like him and I have my reasons. Didn't like him on the football field either but you can never take that big tackle and goal away from him.
