Most of us can probably admit we all knew why he was leaving. I didn't want to admit it at the time.

We replaced Dunkley easily enough with Bont who is going to be AA and possibly win a Brownlow after playing the Dunkley role better than Dunkley did.

We just didn't replace what Bont used to do with anyone competent.

I don't think we really replaced Dunkley and I feel a couple of those close losses would have been reversed if we had have had him and his defensive capabilities in the midfield rotations.

I have mentioned this before, - Dunkley had issues with Hunter - as verified by his Uncle to me, however, overall it was money.

Jake Stringer will be 30 on ANZAC day next year.

    a) Serioulsy. What a waste of talent.

His stats show his above average other than his marking and handball :

I seriously doubt he will be offered another contract after this one, but next year is contract year.... His played 17 games this year.

His Brother plays for the Brisbane VFL team, so they're still together. VFL team is solid, he's been okay.

Could never get his body right. In his first five seasons he never played more than 11 games. He actually then played 17 and 18 in the last two seasons before not getting on the field this year.

He was close to being a very good AFL player and probably should have played 120 senior games.

Agree. His best was more than good enough.

Fagan got very emotional when talking about him. Sounds like he was a very popular and loved player at the Lions. What was the backstory on what he opted to leave the Bulldogs?

Shame it's gone this way for him - one of the better long left-footed kicks I've seen from a big man.

I met him twice at the Dogs. He was studying psychology, my wife being a Psychologist was of interest and he spent ages picking her brain.
He seemed like a really level headed guy who was probably too smart for footy clubs!
Real shame it's turned out the way it has, however I think he will make it on the "outside".

Good for him. A reasonable depth player by the sounds of their announcement.
