The only reason players play VFL is to hope to get into AFL, the pay is half what you get playing suburban or country footy, especially a player of his talent so he obviously thinks he is still a chance to play AFL.

He's 30, it's a strange decision, as you say he would make much more playing local footy. Maybe there is a coaching pathway involved?

Must be coaching related, as he did an ACL at the end of last year. Wouldn't expect him to be playing anytime soon.

Not sure why he would be on a list this year and won’t play due to an ACL . Just make him an assistant coach of some sort.

You are right. It was an achilles. As a long term injury he is still unlikely to play for some time.
