I thought Austin would be mentioned with the Watson nomination but to be honest given the state of our list for key defenders and if we are genuinely looking to play Roughead as the number one ruckman we might have to take someone on the rookie list.
Now that might change if we were to land someone like the former cat Mitch Brown but there is a fair chance we won't land any experienced KP player in the National draft.

No to Watson. I'm still getting over tye offloading Robbert Klomp on us back in thr '80s. I'm wary of any cast off Carlton plyers.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I think we've corrected this and paid them back with interest by giving them Jones and Tutt with Athorn included as an initial downpayment.
At least they gave us Maylin.

I liked Hogg and was not happy when he left.
The other one was Collins who was up him self.

Agree with this. Matty Hogg's family are Dogs fans and Hogg was a good clubman who went on to a terrific career at Carlton. Parkin loves him. He was a loss.
A better 90s trade by us to Carlton was Jimmy Plunkett.

I thought we all conferred that Roughead would not survive being number 1 Ruck.

The club seems to be saying he will train this year as a ruckman. My preference is that he stays as a key defender who does some work in the ruck but if he is being moved we don't have a lot of depth there

I think it was out of Hogg or Maloney who left, both back pocket players. We kept Maloney.

My preference also. You have to be a certain breed to be a ruckman. In other words, a masochistic freak with ability to have your body put through a meat grinder.

Markovic has him well covered for pace - spent the last year and a half being trialed forward because other forwards run rings around him

Goes to ground too often as well and while he kicks the ball well long on the left there's not many more that miss targets 20-30 metres away.
I've met him a couple of times he's such a nice unassuming guy but I don't want him playing football with us.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Richmond have signed Andrew Moore from Port as a delisted free agent.
