    Round 8 - 2016

Must be played in Melbourne. Must be at Etihad. Must all attend to see a new banner behind the goals, the first jumper number 2 to join the certain club of players that have banners there.

Good to hear Crofty finally getting his due.

    Re: Round 8 - 2016

Here's a sad stat for Dogs fans.

There are 11 players in history who have played 300 games with no GF appearance. Of them, 5 played all of their first 300 at Dogs (Grant, West, Johnson, Smith, Hawkins) and another 3 a lot at Dogs (Dempsey, Round, Quinlan). Looks like Bob will make it 9 of 12.

    Kevin Murray, Ian Nankervis, ???.

    Who is the third?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

    John Rantall?

Was going to say Sam Newman but I think he might have played in their loss in 1967.

Rantall played in a premiership at Norf but I'm not sure who the third is.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I'll have a crack with Ian Nankervis , he didn't make the team in "63 and pretty sure he didn't play in another in his time.

Correct guys, Murray, Nankervis, Newman (did play at Geelong in 67 but didn't make GF team).

So, Bob is scheduled to play game 300 against Melbourne at the MCG. I hope we will the joint.

We don't play at Etihad until three weeks later for the unfurling of his banner behind the goals with the rest of the 300 club.

The AFL should make sure Shane McInernay is one of the officiating umpires on the day to make sure that Saint Nick is appropriately celebrated

We could see a world record for the number of frees paid to one player in a game of AFL.

May as well just forfeit the game and save everyone the effort. That's the humane thing to do.

Also Roughead, Wood, Dahl and Crameri should get to 100 games, and if Wally plays all year and two finals him too. Minson is 11 off 200. This changes our profile a bit next season obviously:

    300+ - Bobby
    250+ - Boyd
    200+ - Morris, Minson
    150+ - Picken
100+ - Crameri, Roughead, Wood, Wallis, Suckling, Dahl
    50-100 - Lots

Looks like the profile of a team a year or 2 off challenging for finals (unless exceptionally talented)
