One could say it's the best ever debut.

Just looked like an AFL footballer. Though he was playing against human sized witches hats.

Looking forward to seeing our inside mids teaching him a footballing lesson.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

It's such a great thing having these northern academies, otherwise players like Jacob Hopper might never have discovered Aussie Rules football. Credit surely must be given to GWS for fostering an interest in the sport and converting him from another game

Also really happy for the player himself, as he noted in his interview, it's been his goal in life to play AFL football since he was 6 years old.

That is one serious debut, has anyone received a Brownlow vote on debut ?

Jason Tutt and Andrew Walker certainly both did. John Georgiadis got 3.

You would think that there would be a few others over the years.

Not sure about a Brownlow vote but John Coleman kicked 12 goals on debut.

John Georgiades polled 3 votes in R1 1989 against Carlton and then doubled up with another 3 votes in R3 against Norf. Exceptional start to his AFL career but it all went downhill from there.

    What happened to Georgiades?

He just couldn't reproduce the form he showed and eventually went back to WA. Only played 15 games.

In one of his last games at VFL park he kicked Trevor Barker in the face when he tried to kick the ball off the ground.
