They were discussing what teams are above the pack and Riewoldt suggested only 2 or 3 Melbourne and Brisbane and (something like)...the Bulldogs maybe. It was like he almost vomited to say it.

On The Couch put up a stat that from round 9, we’ve been the #1 team for opposition scores per inside 50 so over our toughest stretch of the fixture, the men’s department have been miserly as hell. Prior to that we were middle of the pack. Impressive and no doubt surprising to all those that question our defensive group (myself included).

Even Garry Lyon, to his credit, acknowledged he'd been wrong earlier in the year in suggesting our defense was going to remain a question mark on our ability to perform on the big stage . He said last night the stat's just don't support that view, and we've shown that we just don't allow teams to expose us to enough one on one's down there for it to be a critical weakness.
