Developing key defender Lewis Young has re-signed with the Western Bulldogs.

The 20-year-old has signed a two-year contract extension, which will see him stay in red, white and blue until at least the end of 2021.

If Lewie was OOC at another club he'd be the type we'd target.

This was one I was extremely nervous about. Had a good run of it and then seemed to get put well back in the pecking order (and we have opted not to play him when other defenders have gone down with injury). I was sure that Adelaide or Port would come knocking.

I spoke to his Auntie about it earlier in the year and, while she didn’t seem to know anything about contract negotiations, she did say that he was loving the club and living in Melbourne.

Let’s hope he can continue to build and turns into the KPB we’ve been screaming out for.

Happy and surprised at the same time. Starved of opportunity so far with us so I expected him to test the market. Very rare to see someone from the current generation waiting and working towards better opportunities, most seem to want it all now and given to them for free.

Good listening to him here where he talks about how his role in the VFL will help him in defence.

Good news. He hasn’t gotten much opportunity but hopefully we see him play in the seniors soon and be more prominent in 2020.

You can stay on the lawn mate. Just make sure to wash your own clothes after you turn 30, deal?

I would like to hang on to Bailey Williams. Been quite decent for us this year.

Me too. It's very intriguing why he's clearly seen as best 22, but as at Wk 18 he's not signed.
