Yes I wouldn't be cutting Honeychurch just yet. Like you said ledge before he went out he was showing some good signs. Webb watching him on Sunday been great at VFL level hoping he can do it at AFL level more.

Updated the OP. Not too busy a year for our list manager, at least compared to the list signings this year. 2019 looks massive.

Although 4 free agents (plus Moz) in 2018 will seriously test the purse strings particularly to still hold enough in reserve to cover, as you say, the challenge of 2019.

Bonts is obviously the big one. They'll be two incremental salary cap rises by then (over the main rise), plus we have taken out of the equation having to make Stringer a massive offer (lesser Crameri too), plus there's still some cap banking. I'd think we can keep them all, it's just additionally whether there's much left in the cap to pursue decent quality trades and decent quality free agents. That's all down to the structures of the contacts in the cap, hopefully we've been doing it well.

I would be wanting J Macrae as a priority signature from that 2018 list

I'd consider moving Wallis down and would probably move Collins up.

Good post Jazza. I'll just add what I'd change to it and it's just my opinion. Feel free to pick it apart as well.

I wouldn't be rushing out to sign Libba or Dahlhaus just yet. Ideally I'd like them in 2019 but if we see something similar to 2017 losing 1 would maybe work out OK.

Jong and Biggs I'd wait and see but wouldn't wait too long. I like both.

Smith and Dickson I've got big question marks over so wait and see approach is preferred and 1 of 2 staying also preferred. Maybe neither.

    Suckling can go.

Collins and Greene I'd like to keep on for longer.

Dale Morris to play on until he's 65.

Fair call on Libba and Dahl, although I definitely hope that they're still with us in 2019. I don't want another Stringer situation where we are shopping them around below cost.

Jong and Biggs are definitely at the top of that second tier for me. Jong coming back from injury needs to be assessed (and we already know he is a player that other clubs are interested in), but Biggs I see as a definite best 22 player.

Smith and Dickson both need to play over 13-14 games to warrant another contract. Both have significant injury/mobility issues and I agree that our 2019 list should contain 1 or none.

Suckling I can see getting another one or two year contract. His placing in the best and fairest shows how he is rated entirely.

Greene should probably be in the second tier, hopefully pushing for a debut by the end of year. Collins, based on reports, seems to have plateaued in the VFL - I'd want a patch of AFL games (or at least pushing with Trengove, Adams and Cordy ahead of him).

Western Bulldogs Free agents at the end of 2018

    Luke Dahlhaus
    Tom Liberatore
    Dale Morris
    Jordan Roughead
    Mitch Wallis

How many of them will be at the club at the end of 2018?

Morris will retire but we could lose a couple of the other guys

I can't see us losing any unless we decide we don't want them, they are all bulldogs through and through.

Libba, Wallis and Roughead all grew up bulldog. I'd be devastated if they chose money over their football club. Only greedy players like Callan Ward would put mammon over their family and club.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
