Re: WBFC - Player Contract Status

I think we are all agreeing. Gowers & Lynch who had interest from other clubs are joining our primary list for unwanted draft picks. A good outcome for all. Which also, allows us the ability to cut into the list to maybe 8 main listed players knowing the last two are set for Gowers & Lynch (Dahl, Roughy, Collins, Clay, Biggs, Campbell, Honey, trade out). With three rookie list spots opened. A very good first off season to re-calibrate the main list.

I have it all laid out in my BT very early thread. Off the top and of my head

Redpath, Dahl, Biggs, Collins, Smith and likely Roughy, HC & Campbell (8) - less any trade out requests (ie Adams, Roberts)
Gowers & Lynch elevated (2) (I suspect Lynch is on the rookie list still)
    6 spots

Media reports Roughy good as gone, Lynch elevated with 2 year deal & Libba to stay.

Only leaves Campbell & Honeychurch. Plus anyone wanting a trade.

Good to have Wally signed up. With Dickson and Picken signed and Wingard on the radar plus the likes of Dunkley and Bontempelli playing forward at times can we squeeze him into the forward line or is he now primarily a midfielder

Re: WBFC - Player Contract Status

    Official:

    Two more years for Lynch

The Western Bulldogs have re-signed emerging youngster Brad Lynch for the next two seasons.

Lynch was a revelation for the Bulldogs in the second half of the season, after making his debut in the Club’s thrilling Round 15 win over Geelong.

The 21-year-old played nine straight games to finish the season, earning him a contract extension until at least the end of the 2020 season.

“Brad has been a tremendous story of persistence and commitment, and it was great to see him make his mark at AFL level this season,” said Bulldogs’ General Manager of List and Recruiting, Sam Power.

“We clearly believe Brad has an exciting future in the game, and we’re delighted to see him commit for a further two seasons.

“Along with some of our other exciting young talent, we’re eager to see how Brad will continue to improve in the coming years.”

Lynch arrived at the Bulldogs via the 2015 NAB Rookie Draft, and was a member of the 2016 Footscray VFL premiership team.

Injury interruptions held him back last year, but some strong VFL form in 2018 saw him given an opportunity at the highest level, and he didn’t disappoint.

He collected 18 and 23 disposals respectively in his first two games, combining elite speed with pinpoint kicking skills from half back.

He switched to the forward line in the last few matches of the season, kicking two goals against Richmond in Round 23.

Anyone else get the feeling there won’t be a rookie list next year?
