Re: Events Thread
Interesting words by Bevo when presenting to Lachie about the hard discussions they’ve had about both on and off-field, and that they’d found middle ground with each other for the moment. Would love to know a bit more detail as it was quite a forum to make this so public.
Ps I believe Dahlhaus was 19 or 20.

Does anyone know how our B&F voting system works?

Yeah I have the same question as well.

Toby is also a better field kick than our B&F winner.
And a better field kick than our B&F 2nd place getter.

I believe Bevo and the (4?) assistant coaches give all players a vote between 0 and 5 at the end of each game.
So a player could get 20 votes in a game

25 is the max. Bevo and four others give every player a 0 to 5 mark.

Mclean a better field kick than Macrae? I can't agree with that. I thought Macrae's kicking has become excellent this season.
I know stats can lie but kicking efficiency this year was 68.9% v 58.4% in favour of Macrae.

Thanks.
So Hunter won averaging just over 9 votes in his 21 games, or less than 2 per coach? Seems low.

Disagree. Macrae is a good kick imo

He's not a booming kick but he's all but eliminated his scrubbers when he kicks around the corner. Also one of the few who lowers his eyes going inside 50 rather than bombing long or blazing away.

Re: Events Thread
Most interesting part of Bevo’s speech about Lachie - was that when they do the reviews and have 4 camera angles, Hunter never has to be worried about what comes out of the review in terms of what he does off the ball for the team. Obviously an insight into the different way that supporters see players, compared to coaches, who forensically analyse all three phases of the game.
For Naughton, whilst it was surprising that he was so high in the B&F, it wasn’t surprising at all to me that he won best 1st year player. Body-willing, he’s got 250 games written all over him.

Agree It does bode well for the future - however, you don’t win any prizes for being the youngest, so I hope we are active in bringing in some mature agers this off-season (which we appear to be trying to do) to address the short term, seeing as the longer term appears bright.

I am not so sure about that.
Macrae is under-rated on his kicking. He regular takes and makes difficult options to set things up. The only knock for Jack is the lack of depth in his kicking as he is limited to about 40 metres as his maximum.
