The stripes are too low and too thin.

The red stripe is supposed to be right up under the armpits.

Why do people keep meddling with a classic beautiful guernsey?

Having the stripes around your belly button just looks lame.

Imagine the Carlton crest down on their belly buttons, it would look awful, that's what it's like to me.
Couldn't agree with you more. Why do they keep meddling with it ? So so frustrating. It's like they're on some mission to make it into a onesie. Come in PeterG, exert some authority to set it right.

Looking at the jumper when Tim English put it on for the first time it looked so wrong.

If the hoops were any lower they would be tucked into young Tim's shorts.

    Re: Our New Jumper.

I know there are a lot of people who don't really care on what colours we play in or the design of it for that matter but I think when done right our jumper is clearly the best visually in the competition. I get that there's some advantages for the club to modify the design most years to drive up merchandise sales but I'd rather we don't settle on just making changes just for the sake of it.

Every time someone from the club gets in front of the media we don't miss a chance to have them decked out with the club's polo and all sponsors logo's etc proudly on display in an effort to look our best and yet when it comes down to sending the team out on match day we seem to be prepared to have them wearing sub standard designs as if it doesn't matter.

    Why should we compromise?

I'm quite serious about this, it's our heritage, it matters, the New jumper is awful, it's just a mistake made by someone who works in the factory or something. It's like having the richmond sash running from under the arm instead of from the shoulder.
God I hope we fix it.

I think we need to all send in a complaint to the club.

****I can never ever ever seem to upload an image on woof. No matter how much I shrink it down to tiny blurry thumbnail, it always tells me it's too big. I was trying to load a picture of EJ in the classic kit. It's also the reason I've never put a picture on my profile. Help anyone????

    Re: Our New Jumper.

The hoops are far too low. It is a poor change in the design. The colour is OK, electric blue. Don't mind that the hoops are thinner, they can stuff around with that a bit, but it needs to be up around the chest, under the arm pit.

The women's jumper is a good example of adding a bit or embellishing on the traditional design without compromising it.

Hoops too low; colour remeniscent of 60's guernsey.

Grrrr... i just think that something as iconic as a club's jumper should not be meddled with. Call me an old fuddy duddy but to me the traditional Victorian jumpers are still more powerful than the interstate teams designs.

Marketing departments are all too happy to make changes for change sake. Even subtle ones.

    Petition a change!

It's like a bloody blue jumper for Pete's sake with a couple of hoops thrown on the bottom as an afterthought.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

    Can't hurt.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

And the goalkicking technique of a lot of the players . Pretty much everyone but Tory Dickson.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
