Yep ripping start. Tipping will be impossible, ours and Sydney aside
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Why are the 4 saturday games played in only 2 time slots? Surely one of the 4:35pm matches could have been played at 2pm?

It was to keep that timeslot free for the AFLW Grand Final.
For those who were always the underdogs and wore it as a badge of honour.

Re: AFL Round 1 2017 Discussion

The AFL continue with their Thursday season rehearsal match.

Obviously it has worked well for the TV station to fine tune their systems by have a full scale match of little importance between irrelevant teams in Richmond and Carlton. The added bonus for the teams is that one of them starts the year with a win.

TV is then all set for the real season opener on Friday.

Great crowd but from what I've seen the footy is a bit ordinary.

My mate, a Blues supporter, just sent me a message "Bit of a problem when your number 1 draft pick from last year is your best player"...

So looks like this game lived up to the standard we've come to expect each year.

Keep Dusty quiet, and pressure their back half and employ a decent team defence and Richmond are going to get smacked this year.

Gives false hope to Richmond and shows Carlton are wooden spooners -great start to season.
