Re: Hamling in his own words
Now that he's moved on I wish him well, except when he's up against us. He was an integral part of our amazing last four weeks to go on and win the Premiership. Keeping Buddy checked within our zone defence was the hardest task out there on Grand Final day.

Re: Hamling in his own words
With my own father in palliative care I can completely understand Hamling's decision and wish him all the best except for when he plays against us. He remains a bulldog premiership hero. One of only 42 people to be able to call themself that.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

He will always be a. Bulldogs premiership hero. Best of luck to him and his family

Re: Hamling in his own words
I'll for ever love him as a bulldog premier player but I hope Boyd kicks 10 on him this week.
They've done studies you know, 60% of the time, it works every time!
Brian Fantana.

Nah actually I changed my mind and hope Boyd kicks 10 on Dawson.

And Clokey kicks 10 on Hamling. For 3 hours on Saturday night he stops being a lionised bulldog premiership legend and is an opposition player.

Re: Hamling in his own words
Had a ripper on GF day, played a vital role in the win. Don't harbour any ill feeling towards him, but I hope Boyd or Cloke smash him and kick a bag on the weekend.

Re: Hamling in his own words
I honestly couldn't give a crap and there is no inner struggle with regards to viewing him as the enemy. When he's done he'll be welcomed back to the fold but until that day he's dead to me.
Anyway, here's a 'random' picture of a real Bulldog to help get you through until Saturday.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

No you're thinking of Liam Bontempelli.

Re: Hamling in his own words
Obviously can't begrudge him going home to his family and sick father, but can't quite agree with this bit:
I was having a chat to dad at the time and we both thought that I really had nothing to lose by leaving.
Sorry Joel but you have lost quite a bit by leaving. Any chance to play finals in the next 5 years for a start!

It is an odd comment, its a simple way of trying to justify the move I suppose but basically he won't have the same comradery and back up on-field and I'm not sure he will have as much support off the ground. so in-essence without the support and back up at the Dogs he may have put his whole career on the line.
