Bankers And Anchors - Round 22, 2017 vs Port Adelaide

This is the round 22, 2017 edition of the Weekly Bankers and Anchors Thread. Once the game against Port Adelaide is concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Optional: New addition to the Bankers and Anchors Banchors 3 players we thought who were in the middle in how they went in the game neither a Banker or Anchor.

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual players.

The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

    Bailey Dale
    Trav Cloke
    Dale Morris

    A

JJ (0.4 and squibbed some contests)
Bailey Williams running past 50 for a handball and flying shot. His career goal kicking is 0.6. Learn to kick them first before convincing your teammates to dish off.

    Bankers:

Macrae - great game 41 dispoasals

Bailey Dale - great up forward, got some marks and goals

Dale Morris - got some important marks down back

    Anchors:

Our ball use at times very poor

    Stringer injury

Probably not going to play finals but honestly we haven't been there this year.

    Bankers

    1. Bailey Dale, 4.1 - well done

    2. Macrae - played a muh better game this week, and his disposal was also better at 82.9%

    3. Cloke's snaps for goal, brilliant.

    Anchors

    1. When the game was on the line, the two kickouts that went straight to Ryder and they goaled, killed the game.

    2. Stringers injury - killed the forward line

    3. The umpire who gave the free against Caleb, when his head was almost ripped off - well his helmet was and the anchor to the dirty scum Port player who then throws his helmet away.

    Banker

Bailey Dale and Mclean they live together have have grown together this year both have been standouts in a incredibly disappointing year for the club.

Jacko has had a really consistent season when the majority of his team mates have not.

Morris- to come back and play after that injury and play a solid game was remarkable. One of my all time favs and his legend continues to grow for mine.

    Anchors

Roughead- didn't have a mark for the day, he is bloody 2m tall FFS! He was owned by Ryder and was a big reason why we were slaughtered when the ball was in the air.

Dickson- Awful effort from another senior player, ill disciplined and had another game where he was barely sighted.

Match Committee- still trying to work out why they were so desperate to play Dunkley? Clearly underdone and IMO not a lock for best 22 and his skillset just adds to the deficiencies of our group. They would have been better off playing webb to actually see if he is an AFL player prior to trade period.

Re: Bankers And Anchors - Round 22, 2017 vs Port Adelaide

    Bankers

Macrae - stood head and shoulders above the rest of his teammates today.

Bailey Dale - good to see a young man after re-signing this week come out and give a display like that.

Morris.. - my Moz-man crush only gets stronger...his legendary recuperative powers have to be unrivalled?

    Anchors

Our tackling - today was indicative of our season in many ways.. none more so than in our frustrating ability to get to and make multiple tackles.. only to see the opposition get hands free or shrug the tackler off and then hurt us with the ensuing disposal or chain.

Dickson - 4 free's against.. and the only guys who had less influence on the field for us was Jake Stringer... who pinged in the first quarter.

    Bankers
    Bailey Dale - excellent game
Jacko - was everywhere. Constant ball winner
Dale Morris - lion-hearted effort. Have so much respect for him

    Anchors
JJ - squandered some golden opps and fumbled
    Our tackling was custard-like
Our kicking inside 50. Well we did a great job kicking it to them.

    Bankers:
Daley Bale, jumped out of the boxes.Early speed and a strong finisher. The ultimate greyhound. Kids seems to understand the value of a goal too. 4.1 was heartening in a season watching his team mates piss opportunities down the drain. Took a screamer late that was inexplicably not paid.

Macrae. Should win our B n F. He was very good again today, showed a lot of care with the ball.
    Morris. Herculean.

    Banchor:

JJ- for going 0.4 but the intercepts and turnover footy he got his hands in was promising.

    Anchor:

Dickson's ill discipline was costly. Created a turnover in the pocket, with the game in the balance and snuffed out the opportunity to turn it into a match winning moment with an act of petulance.

Stringer's hammy. Hard to win with a man down so early,

Marking power across the ground. Discgracefully inept in the air.

I struggle to see how this bloke has a commentary job, let alone be one of 7's headliners.
