Hodge playing on with Brisbane?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

He has had discussions as he wants to play, but hasn't received a formal offer, but is expected to.

Yeah I saw. They want to offer him 2 years. Good luck with involving him with their young players.
I can't see what's going to go wrong there.

I would love to have him as our backline coach.

If in order to get him, a club needs to offer a one year deal for playing and having an ex-Hawthorn person as coach, I'd offer that. Losing Bob & Boyd and hopefully wanting JJ on the wing, his experience down back would be good for one year. Look at the convo yesterday about Young's positioning, presumably under direction. A leader like Hodge should be bar to address that stuff on field. It's not going to happen, but I'd happily give him one year playing, and two as an assistant after.

im with you that would be a brilliant get. He could Marshall the backline for one last shot at a premiership. I pray Bevo is in his ear.

Re: Hodgey
Does he have to play to coach the players about the backline strategy?
Also it depends if the strategy he knows and uses is the same one we are teaching.
