Never see Suns games - presume he plays as a small forward or a running back man? Defensive pressure? What would he cost in a trade?
I think he plays off half back. A run and carry player.
He has a contract for next season and played every game for the Suns this year so he might cost a bit to get him.
If we did land him it might free up JJ to play on a wing or half forward

    Thanks.

Rumour has it that he wants to return home.

What are your thoughts on Motlop? I've seen quite strong opinions either way.

Not sure and I haven't given him a lot of thought.

With stringer and Crameri most likely gone, I'm VERY worried about how our fwd set up will look next year. 2 relative quick forward flankers need to be replaced with similiar ilk. This is why I think we should make a play for Motlop. His pace is needed and definately required, and we need more than him.

I'd also look at moving JJ up the ground to wing/HF. He's proved to be a good kick for goal both on the run and set shot. A fit wood to play the running role with Williams.

Is Stefan Martin still on our radar ?

Seems to have gone quiet on a potential Martin move from Brisbane. Perhaps Scahche is getting all the headlines

What about Adams spending more time forward? His kicking straightens up and seems less of a liability in attack than in defence. The times I've seen him forward he seems to hold the ball and choose better options than he does in defence where his disposal can be a bit hurried.

I also think that Dahlhaus could spend more time forward. He's really clever in attack and his disposal can hurt teams in a way it just doesn't on-ball.

Yes please. He's a good kick and we just don't have enough players who can kick.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Agree on Dahl and Adams playing forward more. I don't however think Adams chooses poor options, he just doesn't execute them well.....mainly when going short by hand or foot.

As for Saad......yes please. Pace to burn and takes the game on. Exactly what we need.

We need a bit of everything and appear to have addressed the need for a good tall in Trengove and now seem to be focusing on improving our foot skills by giving Crozier a good look.

I tend to think if we could acquire Daniel Menzel as a FA forward who kicks some goals and or trade for Adam Saad that would balance things pretty well for us.
Nothing to get too excited about but we do struggle to attract the high profile players unless we pay a premium

At some stage we will need to have a hard look at our list, I get why we didn't make a lot of changes last year but we appear to have followed it again again this year. There should be quite a few on notice that a less than satisfactory effort in 2018 will finish their careers with us

If Stringer goes, with good legal manipulation of payments, we could bank an awful lot of salary cap for a 2018 FA raid.

BT my concern is we have cash to splash but no one to spend it on.

We can though, next year. Like GCS with GAJ, we bring forward other contracts. Say we have $1,500,000 'spare' if Stringer goes this year. We could just ask Tom Boyd, Bonts & JJ etc to take some if their contract early to the tune of $1,500,000.

So we've paid the maximum amount, but now we have these guys on $1,500,000 less. If JMac does his stuff right, next year we've manoeuvred the contracts that we can make a $1,500,000 offer on a Tom Lynch type if that's what we want to do.

So hopefully our list manager is all over it, be it JMac or me as his replacement, Mr Gordon...
