Barry Hall returns to Swans punching form in last game
Former AFL premiership captain Barry Hall has been caught on video striking two opponents in a local footy grand final, his last game of competitive football.
Footage showed Hall, who was playing for Labrador against Palm Beach-Currumbin in the Queensland AFL final at the weekend, drop the ball in a tackle before being held by an opponent for a number of seconds.
Hall then strikes his opponent in the face with a wild left hook, sending him into the ground.
The punch was an eerily similar action to the infamous Brent Staker incident where Hall brutally decked the West Coast Eagles player in a 2008 match.

The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

Yeah I saw that on the news. I thought it looked a little staged. I notice Barry only got a week.
People went along hoping to see BBB punch someone and he obliged.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Good to see he's still a dickhead thug.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

Looked like he was doing what you expect in a grand final , intimidating and taking it to the edge , lets face it he is big he has the aggro look , take advantage of it, push a few around, look like a nutcase and scare the bejeebers out of the opposition.
Not much in it at all I thought, media sensationalism again.

He predicted he would go out Alistair Lynch style. It's disappointing when former great players go down this road of playing in the lower leagues and then get caught in this sort of behavior
It could have easily led to him losing a media job,

I suggest you put your glasses on and have another look.
Or put your brain in and have another think about it.
For those who were always the underdogs and wore it as a badge of honour.

Agreed, this wasn't just a case of a player throwing his weight around in a push and shove display.
I also don't know how it's two weeks down to one but I think that's largely academic

We don't call out other posters on WOOF and I am certainly not going to ignore "put your brain back and have another think about it." just because someone else's opinion doesn't match yours. I suggest you apologise mate,

Would a life ban been kicked in with 2?

I respect everyone's veiw whether I agree or not.
The second one was a push to the chest, he is a big boy many would be sat on their arse after that, he knew exactly what he was doing and he only got a week tells you it wasn't that bad .
I won't lower myself to abusing posters, leave that to you.

Must have been his last chance if it wasn't or did they change the rule ?

I'm not sure, but his record would put him in danger of the lifetime ban with 2 weeks at a guess.

If it was his last game he wouldn't care anyway.

Still not a good idea, if I were him. Looking at how much Fevola makes per game, I'd leave that option open to me. If for nothing else, to have options to make more easy money. And not reinforce his legacy as a violent player.

Agreed, one was definitely a push. The world will keep turning.
