Ben Long offered one match suspension for his hip and shoulder on Macrae.

I’m staggered not one umpire picked up the high contact.

No Long, no Ryder and probably no Carlisle (partner giving birth this week in NSW), I'm predicting a smashing against Richmond. Our final was easily the worst standard of the 4.

Macrae is one tough hombre. That could have easily knocked him out, which would have ended Long's season even if they made the GF. It was a bit of a cheap shot, and Long clearly has a poor technique when bumping.

Doi you think it effected Macrae's game?

His output was definitely down. But so was our entire team.

Macrae was ok but it is difficult to impact in the middle when you are forced to be so reactive at stoppages. We didn't get absolute maximum output out of all our key mids - none of them were poor but we just didn't get those absolute standout game changing performances. We got it collectively in the last 10 minutes where all of Daniel, Bont, Libba, Dunks, Smith, Hunter and Macrae worked over their opposing mids but we needed more than a cameo.

Pretty disappointed by our response to that snipe by Long. Roarke Smith was right there and barely remonstrated. Should have buried Long in the ground.

Oh but we were going to come out with a revered physicality after last years embarrassment....we’re still waiting for that response over a year later.

Agree that set the tone for the day. After the previous final, we just copped it again and didn't respond until it was too late.
How does that just get 1 week?

Because lucky for that thug Long, Jacko doesn't have a glass jaw. If we had any ticker, he should have been pounded into the ground.

It may get nothing after they challenge. You know how the MRO goes. Macrae played out the game so nothing to see here.

Hmm I dunno the ball was still live and Jacko popped right back up. I get the sentiment but it wasn't exactly Greene eye gouging Bont.

Agree, no damage done. When Jacko got straight up, everyone thought it was just a bump.

You see a bloke run off the back of the square and smash one of your leaders in the jaw with deliberate bump, you cause a ruckus. We bent over and took it ala 2019.
