First time he elbowed someone when he wasn't looking at them.

Maybe it’s the first time that he’s whacked that player.

Ridiculous B Smith cited for sling tackle. This is now beyond a joke. Lucky he was fined only

Re: MRO Thread
If it's the one I'm thinking of it was a dumb tackle and he was placing himself at the mercy of the MRO as soon as he did it. Luckily he didn't quite follow through on it.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Re: MRO Thread
Standard from MRO. I not even sure that blokes head actually hit the ground. His hair maybe but his head, I'm not so sure. Bailey you are safer punching someone in the guts than actually laying tackles. $1000 too when everyone seems to get $500. That Michael Christian obviously hates us
They've done studies you know, 60% of the time, it works every time!

Re: MRO Thread
While Smith did actually throw his opponent to the ground, it was only because the umpire took way too long to blow the whistle.
Even then he made sure that he held the player to avoid him actually hitting his head.
Christian has no idea.
Can anyone recall anything a Bulldog player ever actually did to Christian in his playing days?

Re: MRO Thread
Have to say it was a poor tackle by Smith, and an unnecessary action in the circumstances. A bounce was inevitable, could have done without the sling action. Fortunately the force was low and he didn't hit his head on the ground.
We talk about how the action should be penalised rather than the outcome then complain when a dangerous action is penalised because there was no injury? I'm confused.

Re: MRO Thread
Yeah he has been punished for what was a dangerous tackle, he has not been punished as if he actually hurt him. Considering the crackdown on that exact kind of tackle this season I think the fine is appropriate and Bailey was dumb to do it.

Agreed, and I let my displeasure be known to all in the game day thread as it was clearly a stupid thing to do, given the climate and who he plays for!

Re: MRO Thread
Agreed. I knew at the time it wasn't a good tackle. Fortunately the hawks player wasn't a complete imbecile and knew how to protect himself. So knowing the MRO implied sling tackles were OK a few weeks ago after the Dahl incident, I didn't stress for a second that he would get rubbed out.

Re: MRO Thread
It was the softest tackle of all time and should not have even been reportable. Smith brings him to ground, the Hawks player braces with his hand, but to me it was in slow motion with no malice to hurt.
