Re: Injury List 2018
2 to 3 weeks with an appendix ? 10 years ago players were only missing one week .. 2-3 is extreme, it's only pinhole surgery nowadays.
I Had mine out at 16 (38 years ago) mine was rushed took about 5 weeks that long ago , guessing it's more than just appendix.
Didn't Murphy of Carlton have his out not long ago and only miss a week ?

If he really has a hip issue he should get it sorted now and be put on ice for the season.

Rory Sloane missed a final last year 9 days after an appendix so it's at least 2 weeks.

I don't know if I'm missing something here, but how does one remove an organ using keyhole surgery? You still need to physically remove the thing, don't you?

They suck it out nowadays through a key hole. So it's not like the big scar I have. :-(

Love you work RS - I just guffawed out loud at my desk!
No mention of being run over by a golf cart? I love that Jarrad Grant's stingray bite got a run.

In year 10 work experience my first day was spent in a theatre watching them burn out a gall bladder via keyhole surgery.
The metal staples they use to clamp off the wound were pretty haphazard, not sure why I remember that.

It’s not an organ, and they can be tiny. Keyhole surgery is performed with several (3 I think) incisions being made, through which the appendix is removed.

Re: Injury List 2018
Great to see. We have missed him this year. Looking forward to seeing him play again in 2019 now. Just horror luck with injuries. Was heartbreaking the first time seeing Libba go down at the Whitten Oval in 2015 in the first AFL game back there in a long time. Had an excellent 2016, not very good 2017 and injured all of 2018 so hoping 2019 is a great year for him.
