Marmo – A difficult start to the year but the votes strongly favoured Macrae (80 of possible 84) in his 100th game. Lachie Hunter (45) was next from a promising Tim English (30) and a hard working Luke Dahlhaus (21). Here is the tally Board after our Round 2 game against West Coast.

Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

Round 2: - Western Bulldogs v West Coast votes

    Marmo -

    4 - Jack Macrae
    3 – Toby McLean
    2 – Lachie Hunter
    1 – Marcus Bontempelli

    Pups - James

    2 – Toby Mclean
    1 – Josh Dunkley

    Comments –

Marmo – While it was another disappointing result there was a unaminous vote for the best performer in Jackson Macrae (84 of possible 84). Toby Mclean (56) took second position ahead of Lachie Hunter (37) and Bontempelli (13). Others to record votes were Josh Dunkley (6), Bailey Williams (4), Jason Johannisen (4), Matt Suckling (2), Luke Dahlhaus (2). English and Gowers both recorded 1 vote.

James – McLean with 42 of a possible 42 takes the top spot from Dunkley (9). Williams (6), Richards (3) plus English and Gowers with 1each, were the other players with votes.

    Note for Twodogs
Macrae did record 100% of the top votes and it is the first occasion I can recall since I have been doing the tally. Unfortunately I cannot verify as I lost some records when my computer was stolen last year.
Further Mclean also scored 100% of the top votes for the James, and while thjis has previously been done by The Bont, I would hazard that it will be very rare to ever see 2 players match this in the same week.

    Marmo - Leaderboard

    8 - Jack Macrae
    5 - Lachie Hunter
    3 – Toby McLean
    2 – Tim English
1 – Luke Dahlhaus, Marcus Bontempelli

    Pups - James - Leaderboard
2 – Tim English, Toby Mclean, Josh Dunkley

Here is the tally Board after our Round 3 game against Essendon.

Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

    Round 3: - Western Bulldogs v Essendon

    Marmo -

    4 - Lachie Hunter
    3 - Jack Macrae
    2 - Bailey Williams
    1 - Toby McLean

    Pups - James

    2 – Bailey Williams
    1 - Toby Mclean

    Comments –

Marmo – With the best performance of the season we still only had a few more woofers cast votes. Lachie Hunter (91 of possible 100) is the top pick from the consistency of Jackson Macrae (70), with Bailey Williams (40) producing his best game for the club in 3rd place. Toby Mclean (31)also maintained consistency for the minor vote. Others to record votes were Luke Dahlhaus (4), Matt Suckling (4), Josh Dunkley (3), Bontempelli (3), English and Daniel 2 each.

James - Williams (38 of a possible 50) took top honours from McLean (26). Others were Daniel (3), English (2) and Richards (1)
Just a note, that some woofers cast votes for the James that did not reflect votes cast for pups in the Marmo. When this occurs, I always revert to the Marmo voting order to count the James tally.

    Marmo - Leaderboard

    11 - Jack Macrae
    9 - Lachie Hunter
    4 – Toby McLean
2 – Tim English, Bailey Williams
1 – Luke Dahlhaus, Marcus Bontempelli

    Pups - James - Leaderboard
    3 - Toby Mclean
2 – Tim English, Bailey Williams , Josh Dunkley

Here is the tally Board after our Round 4 game against Sydney.

Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

    Round 4: - Western Bulldogs v Sydney

    Marmo -

    4 - Jack Macrae
    3 - Marcus Bontempelli
    2 - Toby McLean
    1 - Tim English

    James

    2 - Tim English
    1 - Toby Mclean

    Comments

Marmo – Jack Macrae (87 of possible 92) maintains his amazing consistency to be the standout choice. Much tighter for the remaining with Bontempelli (27), edging McLean (25) and English (23). Suckling (22) was close up. Others to record votes were Josh Dunkley (13), Mitch Wallis (11), Easton Wood (8 from 2 BOG and nothing else), Bailey Williams (6), Caleb Daniel (5) and Luke Dahlhaus (3).

James – An anomaly with the Pup voting as Tim English (23 of a possible 46) took top honours from McLean (20), reversing their order in the Marmo. Others were Dunkley (13), Williams (8) and4Daniel (3).
We still had some woofers cast votes for the James that did not reflect votes cast for pups in the Marmo. As always I adjusted these to the Marmo voting order to count the James tally.

    Marmo - Leaderboard

    15 - Jack Macrae
    9 - Lachie Hunter
    6 – Toby McLean
    4 - Marcus Bontempelli
    3 - Tim English

Here is the tally Board after our Round 5 game against Fremantle

Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

    Round 5: - Western Bulldogs v Fremantle

    3 - Matthew Suckling
    2 - Tim English
    1 - Caleb Daniel

    James

    2 - Tim English
    1 – Caleb Daniel

    Comments –

Marmo – In a week where voting was clearly difficult the top votes go to Jason Johannisen (40 of possible 52) with Suckling (22), English (18) and Daniel (17) taking the minor votes. Others to gain woofer nominations were McLean (11), Honeychurch (10), Bontempelli (4), Jong (3) and Macrae with just 2. Sinle vote getters were Boyd, Richards and Cordy.

James – The top award for the pups is Tim English (15 of a possible 26) from Daniel (12), with McLean (8), Richards (3) and Cordy (1) the others with some recognition.
We again had some woofers cast votes for the James that did not reflect votes cast for pups in the Marmo. Again I adjusted these to the Marmo voting order to count the James tally.

    Marmo - Leaderboard

    15 - Jack Macrae

    2 - Lachie Hunter
    1 - Caleb Daniel

    James

    2 – Caleb Daniel
0.5 – Toby McLean, Patrick Lipinski

    Comments –

Marmo – Plenty of variation in WOOFers opinions this week, but top votes go to Bontempelli (71 of possible 84) from ultra consistent Macrae (41), Lachie Hunter (32) and Caleb Daniel (25). Others to score were Mitch Wallis (14), Toby McLean (11), Johannisen (8), Bailey Williams (6) and Pat Lipinski (2).

James – The top award for the pups went to Caleb Daniel (25 of a possible 42) from Toby McLean and Patrick Lipinski (both 14). We also had votes to Williams (4), Gowers (2) Naughton (2) and Bailey Dale (1), to give a good spread amongst the pups.
We again had some woofers cast votes for the James that did not reflect votes cast for pups in the Marmo. Again I adjusted these to the Marmo voting order to count the James tally.

    Marmo - Leaderboard

    18 - Jack Macrae

    2 - Toby McLean
    1 - Bailey Williams

    James

    2 – Toby McLean
    1 – Billy Gowers

    Comments –

Marmo – A dominant performance from Jack Macrae (80 of possible 80) and the second occasion for this season that he is been awarded the 4 vote from every WOOFer that gave votes. Lachie Hunter (45) took the runner up position for his game as captain. Toby McLean (36) maintains his consistency with Bailey Williams (10) really finding form. Others to score included plenty of the pups. Gowers (9), Naughton (8), Dahlhaus (5), Johannisen (4) and Caleb Daniel (3) being the other vote scorers.

James – The top award for the pups went to McLean (28 of a possible 40) from Billy Gowers (12). It was very close for the minor vote with Naughton (10), Williams (8) close up and Caleb Daniel also recorded a score of 2. This week also saw the anomaly of Bailey Williams scoring in the Marmo, ahead of 2 players that he trailed in the James.

    Comments –

Marmo – The WOOF voters are showing themselves as very dispirited with the current form of the team. In the lowest voter turnout EVER (to my knowledge) Marcus Bontempelli (26 of possible 32) took the top votes from Matt Suckling (18), with Lachie Hunter (16) and Easton Wood (11) filling the minor positions.

James – The top award for the pups went to McLean from Richards with Lipinski the only other pup to gain a vote.

NOTE – I had a technical issue that made it impossible to quickly add the other comments

    Comments –

Marmo – More enthusiasm from the WOOF voters accompanied an improved performance from the team. Our top vote winners all played season best performances with Billy Gowers (78 of possible 88) narrowly taking top position from Hayden Crozier (75). A reasonable gap to third with Marcus Adams(31), showing that he has been badly missed. Mitch Wallis (16) took the minor vote, with Bailey Williams (10) close up. Others to record votes were Dale Morris (5), Josh Schache (2), with Tom Boyd and Aaron Naughton each recording a single vote.

James – The top award for the pups also went to Gowers (44 of possible 44) from Williams (18), with Josh Schache and Aaron Naughton both recording 2 votes..

Here is the tally Board after our Round 15 game against Geelong

Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

    Round 15: - Western Bulldogs v Geelong

    Marmo -

    4 – Luke Dahlhaus
    3 - Toby McLean
    2 - Billy Gowers
    1 - Josh Dunkley

    James

    2 – Billy Gowers
    1 – Toby McLean

    Comments –
    Marmo

A much better WOOF input with more making the effort to cast their vote. It was also a wider field receiving votes, with 11 individual players getting at least 1 vote.
Luke Dahlhaus (70 of possible 96) takes top spot, with recognition of his best game of the season. The minor votes were tightly contested by the pups, with Toby McLean (41), runner-up from Billy Gowers (37) and Josh Dunkley (36). Ed Richards (22) was also close up, from Tom Boyd (12). Others to poll were Bontempelli (9), Johannisen (5), Adams (5), Lipinski (2) and Schache with a single vote.

The top award for the pups also went to Gowers (21 of possible 48) from McLean (20), with Josh Dunkley (19) right in the mix, Ed Richards (11) was also recognised and Brad Lynch scored a single vote in his impressive debut performance. A statistical anomaly with Gowers reversing the order over McLean to the Marmo voting.
Note also, that there seemed to be a lot of difficulty amongst voters, identifying who was actually James eligible. I believe I have managed to allot to the correct player in the tally, by ensuring every James eligible voter was allotted points based on the preferred order in the Marmo.

    James - Leaderboard

Note that Gowers was missed from the Leaderboard last week.

Apologies for the late posting this week. It has been a busy week for me.

    Re: 2018 WOOF Player Awards

    Here comes Toby.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
