Shiel imo definitely not worth two first rounders, would consider one but as they say in racing, "prefer others".

Sam Mayes from Lions could be on the move. Former top ten, had a poor year so could be cheap.

Re: 2018 AFL -Trade Rumours and Discussion
Well I just watched Draft Day with Kevin Costner and it was an interesting movie.
Take the Hollywood out of it, is this how our draft is going to be this year?
If it is would we better to employ a list conman to work the deals and a list manager to ok them.
It's going to be interesting to see how it all pans out. I would think a hell of a lot of background manipulating going on that we will never see. Maybe that happens anyway.

I hope it doesn't get to that level. We have a draft and a trading period so I'm not sure why there is a need to try and blend the two of them together. I'm reliably told that it will add excitement to the night but I remain unconvinced.

I suspect that it will make this years drafter longer and duller. Most teams will be too scared to be the first to do anything.

Wouldn't mind him for a late pick. Really good ball user

For once, it's a miracle Zaine didn't snap his knee off.

There's still time St Kilda people to follow curling, especially if your reading these trade rumours.
And there is curling into the foetal position...

Yep. As soon as I saw them I thought who is combining chips and chocolate and thinking it's a good idea?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Jon Ralph @RalphyHeraldSun
As reported in the Herald Sun on Tuesday, Mitch McGovern wants to go to Carlton. Manager Colin Young has just confirmed it on SEN. With picks 24 and 25 and two mature-agers, should be able to get a deal done. Adelaide wants picks/players this year, not Blues future picks.

Money aside, why would he want to go to Carltank?
I can't understand any best 22 player of a club wanting to go to Carlton.

They are 2 years away from making a big jump IMO. Add in McGovern, Shiel and Sam Walsh and it might be quicker.

Re: 2018 AFL -Trade Rumours and Discussion
Often times the player will end up choosing the club that really goes out of their way to show they want them. There's no doubt McGovern felt lied to last year when he was told there was no more room in the cap and then Adelaide went and got Gibbs, so he's probably looking as much for a club that he feels he can trust and really believes in him.

The AFL wanting to make the draft more exciting cracks me up.

Might be difficult for them to get McGovern and Shiel whilst keeping a top 5 pick to get Walsh.
In any case, the only players I rate on their list are:
- Dow, Murphy, Petrevski-Seton, Simpson, Kreuzer, Cripps, Docherty, Marchbank, Fisher and Curnow
From that list, 3 will be gone within 2 or so years (Murphy, Kreuzer, Simpson) whilst Petrevski-Seton and Fisher are solid b graders.
Might be a few others on their list who can contribute (McKay) but they have under 10 players anyone could be confident about. McGovern helps, another early draft pick helps but they are still quite a way off it IMO.
This is without taking into account injuries and poaching. If they go another year or two with 2-4 wins, some of the younger talent will leave.

You mean it was a S*$T movie right??? Or a ridiculous movie?
Who was that QB supposed to be? Ryan Leaf? As for taking an inside linebacker with pick#1...
Anyway, let's never speak of this again.
