    Re: 2018 Final Series

I just re watched Mason Cox's highlights package.

The dude was playing college basketball four year's ago and had never held a Sherrin.

What he achieved last night is nothing short of extraordinary.

I watched Anthony Barry (185cm) destroy him at VFL level 2 years ago, remarkable rise from then. Bloody tricky match up if he keeps marking the ball at those heights.

    Re: 2018 Final Series

If Melbourne somehow get over the line today (I don't think they will), it could be a 1988 GF style blowout next week. Collingwood are all over the Demons from a match-up perspective, and the Dees will be partying hard all week just to have made it to the big dance.

West Coke match up very well against Collingwood and will be a much tougher opponent in the GF if they win today. They have the twin towers up forward and 4 other dangerous mid-sized forwards who all have tricks (Rioli, Ryan, Cripps and Le Cras). They have a 2-pronged ruck division to blunt the huge advantage that Grundy enjoyed last night. And their midfield is strong enough to match it with the Pies. Sheppard is a big loss (ideal match-up for De Goey) but they still have the likes of McGovern, Barrass and Hurn down back.

Huge call but I'd bring Darcy Moore in for Hoskin-Elliot, who has been awful this finals series and was a deer in the headlights last night. They desperately need another tall down back, which they didn't need last night against Riewoldt and nobody else.

Dees like a rabbit in the headlights and treating the ball like a hot potato. They should be down by more and it's going to take a mammoth effort to reel in that margin.

What a difference darling and Kennedy make to this team from the last time they played.
    Pressure all over the ground.
Melb look a rabble at the moment.

I honestly could’ve believe WC were $1.80 at home .

Melbourne have been timid and clumsy.
    Gawn zero influence so far.

Only thing going for the demons is West Coast didn’t kick straight.

It should be 8 goals to none.

    To paraphrase Billy Birmingham:

Oh dear. Well, Melbourne may not have been *!*!*!*!ed before, but, they certainly are now.

A mate of mine is a desperate, die hard Dees supporter. I feel bad for him, he's a good bloke.

    The rest, not so much.

I guess only truly great teams win interstate finals.
