Averages 41 in first class cricket. When you bat down the order, not so easy to make centuries.

Langer has come out and said he just wants Maxwell to make consistent centuries in the games he's not playing.

I wonder if the Austrailan Cricket team is ISO accredited.........

That need to make sure they don't select sub-standard players.

He needs to be honestly told why he hasn't been selected. If he isn't regarded as a good guy in the rooms or the other players don't like him then he needs to hear that. The old story of him needing to make 100's doesn't appear to be accurate.

Spot on GVG. A ridiculous statement already shown as not being applied to the others in the team

I heard Langer this morning, and I can hardly bare to listen to him.

That squad is trash and makes me think we're just treading water and not exposing anyone we actually rate until Smith and Warner are back, but Labuschagne got me out in school cricket with his garbage leg spin so now at least I can say I've been dismissed by a test cricketer.

Maxwell is obviously not part of the boys club.

Lyon's taken 5 of the 6 wickets to fall on the first day of the tour match. Pakistan A are 6/247

Lyon finished with 8 as the Pakistan A innings closed up at 278.

Australia has responded with some big runs - 162 for M Marsh, 94 for S Marsh, 90* for Head and 54 for Finch

Re: Test squad for Pakistan series

Interesting selections for the first test

    Australia XI for first Test:
    Aaron Finch, Usman Khawaja,
    Shaun Marsh, Mitch Marsh,
    Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne,
    Tim Paine (c),
    Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle,
    Nathan Lyon, Jon Holland.

Finch as an opener is a selection based more around his experience and cool head than any demonstrated form.
He's no sure thing to be selected for Victoria but will move to number 3 for Australia when Renshaw returns,

Mitch Marsh moving to number 4, does he have the number of runs you expect from a number 4? He's going to have to do some bowling as well

Labuschagne is an unexpected selection, sure he has a great attitude and is an expert bat pad fieldsman but a clear punt. Good luck to him

Siddle return over Nesar is another interesting choice.

I hope this team knuckles down and bats with some discipline.

Tough on Renshaw - he would have played had he not been concussed in the tour match and not batted.

    Pakistan 0 for 150
Holland isn't troubling them in the slightest at the moment. Labuschagne has bowled 2 overs of leggies.

    Marsh has not bowled yet

I would pull an injury if I was picked as a bowler to play in the UAE.
