Can’t read it (paywall) but Landsberger has posted ‘Hawks set to pip Dogs to Wingard’ on the HS site.

Re: The Chad Thread
Lots of money for Martin or Kelly then and a lovely number 7 draftee. Could we obtain something really good fr hawks that would make us part with pick 7?

Hawthorn is in the box seat to land Port Adelaide’s Chad Wingard

HAWTHORN is in the box seat to secure Chad Wingard if the Port Adelaide playmaker is traded by Wednesday’s deadline.
The Herald Sun understands Wingard is leaning towards a move to Waverley instead of Whitten Oval despite the Western Bulldogs’ supreme confidence in landing him.
But Wingard is yet to formally request a trade and a deal would still have to be struck with the Hawks given he is contracted at Alberton in 2019.
It would be the second year in a row the Hawks have beaten the Bulldogs for a Port Adelaide player’s signature after they secured Jarman Impey last year.
Wingard reportedly went to Dogs coach Luke Beveridge’s house for dinner recently.
But after missing out on Tom Lynch and Dylan Shiel the Hawks upped the ante look set to land another big fish.
Wingard would help replace retired champion Cyril Rioli in coach Alastair Clarkson’s forward line next season.
The Hawks hold draft picks No.15 and 35 and have long been happy to trade away their prized selections.
If Port Adelaide secured Hawthorn’s first-round pick it would boast selections No.6, 10 and 15 as it targets star South Australian teenagers Jack Lukosius and Izak Rankine.
That draft hand could allow Port to move even further up the order, potentially targeting Gold Coast’s No.2 and 3 selections.
The Bulldogs were hoping to use their future first-round pick for Wingard but Port’s preference was to secure their first selection this year, No.7.
Wingard is close mates with Impey as well as Bulldog Jackson Trengove, who crossed from Port Adelaide to Whitten Oval last year.
On Wednesday Trengove posted on Instagram a photo of him, Impey and Port Adelaide midfielder Sam Powell-Pepper with the caption: “@chadwingard ... pick one”.
The post was deleted hours later.

Re: The Chad Thread
I still don't understand what Hawks can offer that will move Port to a position that assures them of landing Rankine and Lukosious(sp)

Re: The Chad Thread
If Port trade Wingard for 15 & 35 they are demented. In what world would Port even consider it?

They don't have anything and that main deal dies for them. It defies logic.

It must've been Bevo's cooking.
Ah well, now we await some choice Insta-trolling from Trengove.

Re: The Chad Thread
This leaning back and forth sounds like a manager selectively leaking the other team will get him every few days trying to drive the price up.

Re: The Chad Thread
Is this guy on BF reporting its a done deal that Wingard is gone reliably connected? He seems to be intimating that a contact inside the Dogs has told him Wingard is going to Hawks.

If we miss out on Wingard, it’s just Hurley all over again.
More proof our list management team repeatedly gets outmanoeuvred.

It's Hurley/Impey. I had an Impey vibe from this whole thing once Trengove got involved. Let's all blame him.
